But retailers don't sell PS1 games nor does Sony online, hence the reason why second hand purchases on eBay are so expensive...

@ Akvod
I wish their would be more PSOne classics in the US PSN and so does everyone else but I just don't see that coming true anytime soon. I will probably complain/worry about it more once I own a PS3. I get what you are saying; some used PS1 games are way too overpriced on eBay.
@ Chris Hu
No, I meant that the PS1's life cycle is over... There's no sales of physical copies of PS1 game going on (except by SE itself in Japan) to be jeopordized by the PSN...

is this game any good?i just played jeanne darc on psp and iam a srpg fan now lol and i used to hate them, iam looking for another great srpg
Another thing which is weird to me is I saw some pic from dome dude who went to Japan and they actually still sell FF7 in stores. But in the US it's been out of print for at least 5 years. Why wouldn't they release it here? It would cost them next to nothing and they would make a ton of cash.
Also did you notice that castlevania SOTN was on Xbox live? How did MS pull off getting a PS1 game over to live?
I hate to say it but there really is a good chance MS does indeed have something to do with this...
@ Akvod
I'm fully aware that their are no more physical copies of PS1 games being made in the US I own one of the last new releases on the PS1 Final Fantasy Origins and that came out in 2003.
@ Megadude
Konami owns the publishing rights to Castlevania SOTN so they are free to publish it on any platform they want. Also Banjo-Kazooie 1&2 are also on XBox live which is also fully legal since Rare is now owned by MS. But not all of Rare's old games can be ported to X-Box live since some of their older games contain characters owned by Nintendo.
So MS paid Konami and Capcom not to put MGS and RE 1, 2 & 3 on the western PSN?
OT: just buy the PSP version, it's awesome!
edit: oh yeah, what's the normal price of a PS game in Japan? I wanna know if this game is much more expensive than normal like FF VII.

Exactly and they aren't being sold as well by almost all retailers. Gamestop stopped selling Xbox games recently, why do you think stores like Best Buy, EB games, etc are still selling PS1 games? And if not, can you clarify what you meant by Sony not wanting to jeopordoze sales of physical copies of PS1 games?

Tactics on Xbox Live would be a day one purchase for me!
Hopefully Square will be nice enough to share it with everyone
