you are VERY picky of your game intersts, but that is your right. If you feel you cannot like any of the previously named games.(By the Way though, is NOT a button Masher, this is a common belief by people who never finished the game because there are MANY times throughout the game where you CANNOT face the enemy head on, you have to wait out an opening and pounce. It is no more a buttonmasher then anyother game).

You still should try Folklore, sounds like you might possibly like that...

PSN games seem to be the way for you at the time being. You should look into these the future...

Fat Princess

White Knight Chronicles

Demon's Soul

Pixel series

My friend, believe.

Every time I see that video I realize I should have turned the controller upside down for that much better of an effect.  :-p

Ok, having made that video then, you would know how biased and not true it is right? I mean, you just said that all you did was play the demo? Not sure if you guys know about tampering with difficulty settings, but heavenly sword on hard is FUCKING HARD!!! Good luck trying to get past the big fat turtle guy. NVM using only two buttons, let me see you try and do it with the whole controller and not get fucked up by him.

As for everybody bashing CGI-Quality's list, you guys have got to be the most pathetic bunch of all. You asked if there was innovation and made the assumption that there are only shooters. The guy named like 20 franchises, each with different characteristics, most of them not even shooters. If you are actually going to sit there and come up with a rebutal for why EVERY SINGLE franchise he named either sucks (cuz you don't like it)/does not fit the criteria/is a shooter, then you are not here to gain experience, learn or argue...you are here to troll.

Firstly, that video is fake as hell. Pay attention to 0:35-0:41. Nariko pulls off a spinning air move correct? The person is pressing the Square button repeatedly. THATS BULLSHIT!!!! In order to do that very move you need to hit a timed combo of [] [] /\ /\ /\!!!!!!!!

Not to mention that was only the demo......

I dare someone to beat Flying Fox, Whiptail, or Bohan with one button. fucking impossible. You cannot even defeat the damn Ninja women with one button, they have to be defeated with precise timing. This also goes for the golems.

Ok, this saves me a need to post another thread on the PS3 library. My take is RPGs are the ONLY weak spot in the PS3 library at this point, and that is mostly JRPGs. Outside of that, the PS3 looks like it has enough of everything. Ok, there isn't something comparible to Live Community games, but there are other titles, like Flower. inFAMOUS looks like it will have the Sandbox genre covered, and there are more out there.

Can someone name what the PS3 is missing?

I totally fucking agree

After watching the IGN review for inFAMOUS (the game looks like Sony attempts to take on Fable and Crackdown at the same time with it), I thought of the library and realised, even without the backwards compatibility, it has about every genre covered... well, except for the JRPGs.  I think Sony happened to ignore its core games this generation, trying to target what the XBox had last generation, for some reason.

It's true in the last few years. They really ignore the JRPG fans and I them them for that.

But with Trinity universe and last rebellion. I think they are starting to care again and I hope more JRPG announcment will come.

lol, you want me to make the video again (assuming the demo is still on the PSN)?  If you look at the controller it's player 1 and you get a pretty good view of the TV area and there's no other PS3 around.

I was just randomly mashing buttons and at many times pressing two at once.  I have pretty big hands so it's pretty easy for my thumbs to hit two buttons even though my thumb is only over one button.

my mistake, I thought the video was trying to say you ran through with only one button, didn't see the title. But yea, that combo needs more then one button press and I didn't see your fingers switch.

And the real game is no where near that easy dude......REALLY! When playing HS expect a lot of asswhipping on your the enemy's part.

I would agree with that to a certain degree. I enjoyed the game, but certainly not because of it's difficulty (I thought it comparatively easy to other games in the genre... although the end was fairly difficult). But rather because of some of the unique gameplay mechanics, namely Kai's levels, and also because of the cinematic feel to the game.

get warhawk it has saved me and i know it will save you too

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

I'm not going to read this whole thread but I hope someone mentioned Folklore. The game was pretty awesome and tried to break out of the traditional JRPG shell.

FootballFan - "GT has never been bigger than Halo. Now do a comparison between the two attach ratios and watch GT get stomped by Halo. Reach will sell 5 million more than GT5. Quote me on it."

The only reason FPS's are more likely to be made by a developer than a Platformer is because a FPS (And I say this only generally as KZ2 is definetly one exception and Halo is another) is cheaper to make and has less of a financial risk.

Shooters generally sell well and so there is much less risk than a game like LBP which is a much more family game aimed at a Mature audience - there is a much hihger risk, devs know there'll normally get a profit on FPS games rather than something more ambitious.

Games like LBP, Ratchet and Clank, MGS, Assassins Creed etc. prove that there is still lots on unused potential out there and games like GTA show that well known old formulas still generate profit - If everygame was a shooter the world would be a very boring place. I think there is still a lot of imagination out there but I think the FPS to everything else ratio is just about right at the moment.

Well it doesn't have any innovation like motion controls on the Wii. The PS3's innovation is in its sheer power. Its got the cell which I guess is good I have no idea what it does. Its got Blu-ray, bluetooth, wifi, USB ports, HDMI, upgradable hard drive (compatible with most laptop hard drives).

I'd say its pretty innovative even if it doesn't have something like motion controls. And there aren't a ton of shooters on PS3 made by Sony. Most shooters are 3rd party. Sony's only ones are Resistance, Killzone, MAG, SOCOM, and Uncharted. Maybe a couple more I forgot.

what about sixaxis? the technologie is there but no one use it in their games
