Forums - Microsoft - (Wall Street Journal) Says Xbox 360 Motion Control Camera Is Real

It's going to be about as big of a factor in derailing the Wii as the HD-DVD add on was in derailing Bluray.

^ Thats like so awesome, you don't even know what its intended to do and yet you're making predictions about what it can't do?

LOL!!!! I just saw that episode the  other day.  Funny as hell.

This motion tech is the first salvo for the next generation.

It will not be possible to retrofit three-plus years of released games. Nor will it be possible to put this in the hands of every Xbox 360 gamer.

Optional add-ons have a poor track record of being accepted. The Wii Balance Board is considered a great success and is held by less the 40 percent of Wii owners.

However, it will be standard equipment on the Xbox Trigon System (you move, you play, you win with Xbox).

eye toy?

well... if you want to troll that route... webcams have been out longer then the eyetoy..

Not to mention webcam games have been out longer...

Any, this tech is almost completely unrelated to the Eyetoy, other than arbitrarily being called a camera.  The Eyetoy operates by detecting differences in color patterns.  This means it can only sense in two dimensions, and it can't tell what part of the body is doing what.  Not to mention thatits accuracy even in these capacities is very limited.

To be honest, I didn't think it was possible, but I think if Microsoft handles this thing properly, it has a chance to carve a 'decent' dent in Wii's weekly marketshare.  They'd have to bundle it with each new system, though, in addition to selling them separately so current owners have easy access.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I am very excited about this.

My question is whether it can track multiple people at the same time. Anyone got any info on that?

So I guess all the people who called Sony nothing but copy-cats because of similar rumors are just going to Shut up now?

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
