Forums - Microsoft - 360 OS on PC

Me zoning out today just thought of a most excellent idea. Microsoft loves it's OS and the 360 as far as I know is develops pretty much the exact same way as a PC. With that being said why doesn't microsoft sell a dual boot OS that works on their PC operating systems of the 360's? Make it so that you can play your 360 games on PC if your pc is good enouph. Sell it for $100 - 150.

1.) they're saving money on hardware, and profiting from you buying the software

2.) They now have a potential buyer of 360 games.

3.) No more red ring issues or e-74 for the PC versions. (something i suffered from twice)

Problem is a lot of PC's can't handle it, but they just need to realy bold out that system requirments.

Problem is that development for console is easy because developer only has to design game to work with 1 cpu, 1 gpu,...getting the point?

Yeah, I do. But there has got to be a way some how XD

I've always wondered if it was technically possible to release a 360 in a card using a PC's hard disc, dvd drive, network adaptor, etc.

They probably could ship a card with just the relevant silicon slabs for 120$.

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Problem with PC stuff (setting aside the fact that PCs are x86/x64 and the 360 is PPC) is the vast array of different chipsets, vid cards, audio solutions, memory configurations, NICs, etc...

There'd be barriers to getting these 'mock 360s' onto XBox Live, which is a walled garden, so to speak.

There'd be tech support with the 'why doesn't this work on MY PC config' issues...

I just don't see it as worth their time. It might be worth the hobbyists time, but not MS'
