Do you have "Shadow of the Colossus?"

*Edit: Well assuming you dont and its in that pile of unplayed games of yours. Play it!! If not, i can comforatbly say ( without playing it ) play Ico.

I have Shadow of the Colossus and I didn't really think it was anything amazing.  I played it, killed a few of them, and just didn't want to go any further.

Really?! After the first fight, I couldnt stop playing it . But i dont think you did the game any justice because: The fights get more strategic, and the story just keeps sucking you in .

I hafe to admit though the only thing holding me back from buying Ico is that it was a 2000 release , and i have a problem with retro graphical shock .

Alot of people are saying CoD4 before KZ2. I'm saying the opposite.

Firstly, you'll get addicted with CoD4 multiplayer and I guarantee that you won't want to jump ship to KZ2 if you start off with CoD4 multiplayer.

Secondly, control wise, CoD4 is superior. If you loved Halo series, CoD series, Orange Box, Bioshock and all those other shooters, you will HATE KZ2's control scheme. I can understand that from a non-shooter lovers standpoint its okay, but it's completely unintuitive if you're familiar with FPS controls. There's definitely a difference between Halo and CoD4, they are both different BUT they share the same fundamentals, KZ2 is almost entirely different.

There's differentiating yourself from convention and competition, but it just felt like Guerilla were just trying to be different for the sake of being different.

Also, One thing I've loved about other shooters is that you'll find some parts will actually move your emotions (even slightly). You'll care if something happens to someone. Not in Killzone 2. The ISA is as heartless as the Helghast and your comrades are jerks. I really couldn't care less who won the war, it didn't stir any emotions.

One thing KZ2 definitely one ups most FPS is atmosphere. It's not just the graphics, it's the intensity that KZ2 creates. You literally feel like you're struggling to survive (especially on the tougher difficulties), it might not be because of you're actually struggling, it might just be your surroundings that create that feeling.

The only negative thing about the jump from KZ2 to CoD4 is graphics/atmosphere (Though CoD4 stirs the same feelings in multiplayer sometimes), The negative things you'll experience with the opposite is you'll hate KZ2's controls, Characters, Multiplayer and the fact that you know mostly where they got their ideas from and how few of their original ideas actually translated well into the game.

Don't get me wrong KZ2 is a great game, just don't play it after CoD4, because as a complete game it's inferior (not by much though). Also, Playing Cod4 second has the added benefit of you being closer to the launch date of MW2 once you are sick of CoD4, and trust me at that point none of these PS3 fans will be turning back to KZ2 once that drops (unless they like to look at the same pretty graphics over and over and over again, which alot will be mentioning to detract from the awesomeness that will be MW2).

You do realize you can change the controls to be basically identical to COD4?

Luckily, I really don't care about graphics all that much so I don't mind playing games from 2000.

ICO. I can't guarantee you'll like it, I can't guarantee it's even the sort of game that will appeal to you, but it's something you need to experience whether you end up thinkingo f the experience positively or not.

Who knows? If you enjoy it enough, it may grant you the perspective necessary to really enjoy and appreciate Shadow of the Colossus.

That typo actually made me laugh. Hats off to you!

I played ICO a few years ago with my cousin, and it has insanely hard puzzles. We ended up getting stuck at some point and we never did get passed it... even with a guide!

It was fun though. The combat was extremely basic but running around and going through the game was pretty fun. There was also a bit of constant tension having to worry about that uselessly defenseless girl getting nabbed by the baddies. :P

Wait, you couldn't figure it out, even with a guide?  I don't understand what that means?

I think I remember using a guide once during ICO.  It's definitely the kind of game where you can get stuck, and sometimes it's on something that turns out to not even be a puzzle -- just going somewhere you hadn't quite noticed, or something small like that.

I beat the game in one sitting, though, despite getting stuck for a while two or three times.  It helps to have someone watching you play contributing their own ideas.

You better play COD 4 before Killzone 2 the game hasn't aged well especially right next to KZ2.

Whatever, CoD 4 still looks amazing.  It also has a much more enjoyable single player mode than killzone 2, which is what you are going for.  I would say play CoD 4 first, just because it is a better game.

As much as I love CoD 4, KZ2 is better, more realistic, better looking, better animated, and more challenging and skill requiring overall.

just because a game has better graphics doesn't mean it is a better game.  CoD 4 has a much better story, the gameplay is a way funner.  Has broader range of weapons which is important for a FPS game.  The multiplayer is much more addicting.

I will give kz2 better graphics, but that is about the only area it is better than CoD4.

finish COD4, it's just a simple arcade campaign and won't take much time anyway

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Yes, that does stick out like a sore thumb.
