Wait, where'd you get the 9 hours from? For Fable II or InFamous?

9.5 Lasting Appeal
It took me about 25 hours to go through both storylines, but I've put in a total of 30 hours searching for Blast Shards and my Platinum Trophy. All that, and this still isn't old.

Assuming the same time for each storyline, that'd be about 12.5 hours for one playthrough. That's a decent length; even 9 isn't too bad.

You're right, 9 ain't bad...but the game is about 9 hours long.

...and yes, this game was based in part on Fable, and many of the "powers" are reskinned Fable II spells. Even the leveling system is very similar.

That said, feel free to form your own opinions, and leave me to my own.

 

No, I was just wondering where you got the 9 hours from. The only time I've seen for InFamous is the one from the IGN review, and that's in my previous post. I wasn't trying to bash your opinion at all; I agree that it does look very similar to Fable in many ways.

what game is totally original in every way? it's impossible to make a game that shares no elements with previous games. the evolution of games is incremental. it's about taking what came before it and making it better. so to say that a game is a rip off of a prior game is to say that we are not reasonably understanding the direction of gaming.

there is plenty of room in video games for titles that hit certain points the same way.

the idea of being able to decide which way you will play a game as either a hero or villain is not new at all, but then again neither are sandbox titles, and neither are third person beat-em ups. infamous has elements in common with many, many games, but the fact that it has a unique story and setting with its own execution is more than enough to let is stand alone and be judged accordingly.

i'm not saying infamous is great. i doubt i'll buy it, but let's keep the commentary in the realm of reason, shall we?
