Yep, I just bombed an exam, a big one too. It was 50% of a module at uni.

I based my revision on the last two exams and lecture notes, but the majority of the stuff I revised was not on the exam. It's frustrating because I think perhaps 70% of what I revised was not on the paper.

Anyway, I tallied my marks up at the end, I reckon I got 56 out of 100 because I was certain of the answers, but the other 44% was stuff I had almost no clue about so it is safe to discount most of it. I just made educated guesses that were likely to be wrong anyway. So at least it looks like I tried...

But 56% isn't enough, if I wanted a first like I am hoping I needed 73%+, 56% will likely get a 2:1.

Assuming you had notes on every part of the course, did they not lecture you on stuff you needed for the exam? Because the university would be at fault there.

I just bombed an O chem final, but im already guaranteed a "C" in the class . If i get lucky, i might pull off a "B" if i guessed enough answers right!

It was all covered, but what I did was find the last two exams (2007 and 2008) and then make a list of the key topics and revise from my lecture notes on those topics. But the exam changed a lot this year. It's my own fault really I should have revised everything, but I decided I would only revise the stuff that is likely to come up in the exam due to time restraints. You only use what you learn in maybe 40% of lectures in an exam so I assumed everything was in order too.

As for answering the questions by trying to remember lectures, I can't remember what I had for dinner yesterday so it was all a little fuzzy trying to remember something I saw to 7 months ago. But looking back perhaps I would get 60%+ I have become a little more confident about a few of the answers.

Oh, the last two exams of that type, not the last two exams you took. Makes sense now. You were right to prioritise based on that since you couldn't revise everything in the time. The fact you will get a degree in a good subject is more important than the grade though. Good luck with whatever you do next.

This reminds me I need to study for a exam.
