No im suggesting that the userbase desides what type of console it is..... And since 360 set all kinds of records for the sales of FPSs..... Im not saying that FPS is all it has.... but the biggest games sales for it come from FPSs......no other console out rite now has those kinds of sales for FPS..... soooooooooo..... at this time ..... yes ... it is.... but i dont see why thats a bad thing....

Forza is not a shooter.The 360 also has some good adventure games.

When you list all the exclusive games clearly PS3 has much better exclusive games than XBox 360.

ok, maybe I'm just posting this to start more crap, maybe I'm posting it because the Wii is left out, or who knows why, but here goes.

The Wii is not the "Party" system, it is the exercise/racer/party/platformer/sports/fighter machine as 75% of top 20 sales fall in those categories according to my 3rd table. If you want to look at the first two tables, then it is the sports/party/exercise/racer/platform machine.

you realize only one of the three games you mentioned was an FPS, right?

Also, the most played games on Xbox live are Halo 3, COD4, COD:World at War, Gears 2, and GTA4, aren't they?

I think comparing it to the PS3 confuses things, because the PS3 has spent a lot of its time this generation imitating the Xbox. Compared to any console of the past, I think anyone would admit there are a lot of shooters up there. So if you get tired of shooters, what are your options from the list?

Guitar games, UNO, and Fable II and castle crashers -- both of which have awful online modes (extra impressive they made it onto the list despite that). And Forza bravely hanging on at 18. The other games are either demos or shooters.


You have to go a bit off the beaten path to find a game that's not one of those and not a shooter.

Going back to PS3, since that's the point of the thread, there's really only one top-five online game I can think of that isn't in large part a shooter. LittleBigPlanet. When I first bought a PS3 around Christmas, I was amazed at how many people out there are playing a platformer in which you create your own worlds. That's the only real difference to me between Live and PSN -- I have friended people from Killzone 2 matches and then logged on for the next week to find them playing LBP obsessively. It's actually really nice to have a change of pace like that.

I'm hoping both consoles get more things like that in the future.

It clearly is much more of a shooter console than any other... according to the VGChartz categorization over 49% of sales of top 25 titles are FPS/Shooters vs less than 24% on the PS3.

That's slightly more than double the relative weight, and yes, the PS3 demographic seems to be more diversified in its buying habits.

Not that there's anything wrong in that for the 360, but those are the numbers.

lol why do you have problem with that? not to say that the 360 dosent have ny other games...... it just sells shooters better than any other system out there.... eccept PC..... but from what i now know.. PC is never mentioned untill one of 3 PC fanboys comes in to a thread. :P  (sarcasm over)
