Forums - Gaming - Who's your favourite developer?

I have many actually:

First & foremost Nintendo. My favourite developer by far. Favourite games from them would be Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda - The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass [have JAP version] and New Super Mairo Bros.

Second/Third parties:

Retro Studios - Metroid Prime & Corruption. 'Nuff said.
Camelot - Golden Sun: TLA.

And finally a tie between Insomniac and Naughty Dog. They styles were so similar in the PS1/PS2 days you could almost not tell the difference between one and the other. I love Rachet and Clank the most from Insomniac while I prefer the Crash Bandicoot games from Naughty Dog!

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.

Actually, Bioware made Knights of the Old Republic 1. Obsidian Entertainment made Knights of the Old Republic 2. Much like Bioware made Neverwinter Nights and Obsidian Entertainment made Neverwinter Nights 2. Obsidian's sequels kind of suck compared to the originals, but they build off something great so even then they're still pretty good.

I'd probably pick Bioware as well.

Runner ups are Black Isle, maker of the Fallout and Icewind Dale series, and Troika Games, maker of unknown yet awesome Arcanum.


Intelligent Systems, Capcom, Retro, and Nintendo are all up there too. Once upon a time I would have included Square Soft but since they became Squeenix I've been increasingly disappointed with their titles (Kingdom Hearts excluded).

Heres a little trivia for ya: If you mix up the letters in Konami, you can spell AWESOME (amazing isn't it!) Metal Gear 3: Subsistance is amazing. Everyone should try it.

Ubisoft is fast becoming a favorite developer of mine too (BG&E).

I think Nintendo is the best developer but their games are too similar for them to be my favorite.

Capcom holds that title easily. Their game library is extremely diverse and extremely good.

Valve, Nintendo, and the actual guys who developed the CryEngine2 (not Crytek as a whole, just those programmers).

The only reason i don't include all of Crytek is because I haven't seen much of their products yet, I have only seen a good developer walkthrough of the engine and it's quite impressive.
