What gives you the feeling that "Zune = Xbox .. Zune HD = Xbox 360"? I don't even know what you mean by that TBH as the 360 has hardly set the world a light. I see you have tried out the new Zune HD since it gives consumers "another option better than the Ipod"...tell me about it.

Not everyone things the Ipod is as fantastic as you make out, and there are far better products on the market that beat the iphone.

Like Xbox, Microsoft used the Zune as a "toe in the bath" kind of thing, with the Zune HD they're going to be more dedicated, like the 360.

 

And I'm pretty sure Microsoft and consumers don't expect it to dominate, but thats their goal, and why shouldn't it be?

That's not to say the ipod isn't expensive.. Especially the ipod touch... 400$ for 32 gigs of memory? Ugh. But I will have to suffer with that price, as I really want an ipod touch.

Apple got that area in the bag MS, time you gave up with Zune. The crazy thing is that I think Zune is NA only because it has never released here in the UK. That or MS tried before and it failed miserably.

I think it is pretty funny, that there are a lot of people saying MS lost against the iPod. No doubt the iPod is the market-leader, but why are people just picking MS? So Sony lost, Philips lost, Samsung lost, Panasonic lost and creative lost as well, because they are all in that market. All of them are selling MP3 Players and all of them have a smaller marketshare than Apple. But for some reason, it is just MS who "lost".

19€ / month is a fair price for as much musik as you like. Do you have to do this for a certain period of time or can I do this just for one month as well? If so, I would do this for one month and download like crazy for this month. Getting all the old titles back + some new ones. Would be great to download 30CDs for 19€.

When the 360 released this gen do you honestly think MS did not want to dominate? FACT of the matter is that Sony and MS thought the Wii would do jack shit but after a couple months both realised they did not stand a change and it then became the "HD wars".

I'm sure MS are going into this expecting the Zune HD to dominate and it's not going to happen, do not even need a time machine to know that. Tell me a product which is better than the iPod and also again I ask how was the Zune HD when you used it since you know it will be better than the iPod?

With the 360 MS threw a lot of money around and rightly so but how can they do that with the Zune HD against the iPod? Shit Apple has the iPod, iPhone and iTunes is just a monster.......good like MS. :/

Thought so DirtyP2002, will be amusing to see the Zune HD go global first time (if it does).

I'm sure they do want to dominate with the Zune HD, I'm pretty sure they know they won't though. You're missing the point.

 

If you were the second best swimmer in a pool with Michael Phelps, going for a gold medal, you're still in it to win it, even if the odds are stacked against you.

 

I'm pretty sure people though the Wii didn't stand a chance, talking the way you're talking about Zune HD. But there is a chance and its not impossible, just unlikely.

To even get a good marketshare would please Microsoft with the Zune ...

No it doesn't work like that

you pay the money as a rental so you get unlimited songs, of those songs each month you get to pick and keep 10 forever (if you decided to cancel your subscription)

 

I think (hope) RPG's recognizes those other companys failed as well. At least Microsoft is trying something new ... *sony walkman* talk about flogging a dead horse.

This thread is about MS taking a shot against Apple and not Sony or Samsung. All the others lost but to my knowledge do not make shitty adverts taking a shot at a company they seem to be afraid of. If anything it's free advertising for the iPod which is pretty darn retarded. Once again this thread is about MS and Apple, not the other companies and indeed MS LOST against Apple with the Zune.

$15 a month for music is very expensive and of course there has to be a catch. For example I would get a months subscription and download all the songs I want within a month and go again after a couple months. If all MS have is the Zune HD with a subscription service things then damn.

@ Seece is that how it's going to work? If so it's going to do even worse than I thought.
