Lmao.
this is fanboyism to the extreme. what you are saying is that you wont buy a game cause it made fun of formats.
i bet the DVD is your only friend ='[

WTF are you talking about? He has a lot of valid points. I don't believe it's coming on the 360 anyway, but for the 360 only people I'd feel shitty if they played this game dumbed down, because a B team ported it. MGS4 a quality game; actually, it's the only real reason I bought the PS3 initially (but since, i've found a couple games I can play). What he's doing is not fanboyism...thats the truth. My god some PS3 fanboys are blind.

Don't be so quick to call others blind.
As a gamer, I think Gebx made only two valid points:
1 - MS Marketing/Financing could of been spent on aquiring a new IP (I'm assuming MS will throw some money at Konami); and
2 - You don't use your "good" developers on a port, , Konami will use their best developers on new games, and their "B" team or "C" team to create the port. Therefore, the game is more likely to be buggy and have performance issues.
Even then, they're highly speculative (as is the whole thing anyway). I'm sure it wouldn't be a poor port regardless, especially if MS were to throw some money as he speculated in the first point I posted of his.
Some of his other points, although a few humourous, displayed fanboyism. Namely the one the person you quoted pointed out:
"MGS4 (ps3) made fun of DVD9's"
At best, that is childish.
Several other of his points shouldn't matter to a gamer (e.g. It will do poorly sales wise compared to the PS3 (Obvious I know...), which will then be used as ammo by PS3 fanboys) but he is a self-professed '360 fanboy' so I suppose that's legitimate(?).

MGS4 did make fun of DVD's. It was a full insult from Kojima to the owners of the 360. He's not being childish.
Whatever you want to say...if you say so.
|
Bold: I know it did. To be sulky about is what is childsih.
Italicized: Haha. Sound retort.
Edit: That was hardly an insult to 360 owners so much as it was to the hardware. Are we not being a bit oversensitive?
|
I saw it and it was definitely a dick move. Kojima shouldn't be throwing gasoline on top of an on going flame war between the 360 and PS3 and you know it.
|
See above.
Regardless, if it were a stab at the 360, you've already clearly shown that you were a bit sensitive to the issue in saying that it was an 'insult to 360 owners'. It was (or so we thought) a joke about a format. Hardly something to get riled up about. To someone who has no personal affiliation (as silly as that sounds) with neither console, it was simply a joke nothing more. Nobody was insulted, nothing was insinuated, nothing.
It is an insult to 360 owners and shows favoritism to the PS3. It's just like how the makers of Rockband are dicks to Sony owners and show favoritism to the 360 because they think Xbox Live is superior. Why do I say it's an insult? because the fans are the ones who get screwed in the end.
*Sorry Shadowblind if you're reading* But the fans aren't getting screwed in the end, they're getting the game (I know, it's just as likely not to happen, but for arguments' sake). I just think you're overthinking this a bit. As you mention later in your post, it is, however, a matter of perception. I thought it was simply a harmless joke, a slight perhaps at the expense of a company. I appreciate your Rockband comparison, but I think it's somewhat unrelated (I own the 360 version of GH/RB, and I'm not sure what you mean. Do they release more songs? I'm guessing you're referring to earlier release?). The difference is MGS4 was never hinted as being multiplatform and the fact that it was a scene in the game making light of disc formats. The RB situation actually impedes on the playing of the game.
Anyhow, we're moving further and further from the point. You called someone blind and a fanboy for simply pointing out how petty a reason that was to not buy a game (which would include me as well as I have done the same). I pointed out how several other of his points were silly as well and you have refutted none, claiming them as 'truths'. E.g. Not buying a game because it will sell poorly in comparison to another version and not buying a game because of a suspicion that profits from said game will be used to support another console.
I wouldn't call you a fanboy because you at least use some reason in your debates.
"this is fanboyism to the extreme. what you are saying is that you wont buy a game cause it made fun of formats."
This is his quote. He called Gebx a fanboy, when Gebx stated reasonable points for not wanting a half-assed copy of the game. If he said "I don't want MGS4 because it was on the PS3", ok then I'd be on your side about it.
Well, he may not have said that, but these seem just as silly:
"It will do poorly sales wise compared to the PS3 (Obvious I know...), which will then be used as ammo by PS3 fanboys"
"Konami will just use the profits to fund their next PS3 exclusive"
Those quotes have nothing to do with the game itself, in fact, none of them do. If MGS4 comes out for 360, you do not have a PS3 and it looks interesting, wouldn't it be logical to purchase the game?
I'd agree with you in not wanting a half-assed port but there isn't anything in his post nor anywhere that would indicate that it would be. MGS2: Substance was great on the Xbox
I mean, that doesn't sound absurd to you?
We all percieve. It's best we end it this way, because eloquence is not enough.
