Good luck on ignoring a nonexistent game.

Nice way to say it.

In the same way I believe Mass Effect should just stay on the 360 (well, they can launch all three as a trilogy for the PS3 when Mass Effect 3 is launching), I believe MGS4 should be PS3 only and leave it at that. |
You said Mass Effect! Now that is a game that is driving me crazy for the sequel! MGS4 was one of the greater games, but people really aren't missing out. MGS1 and 3 are still the better MGS games. If they want a good cinematic flick, then hell yes, MGS4 is badass.
MGS4 rocks, but if I trade my PS3 for a 360 it will be a sucky average game, makes sense isn't it?

WTF are you talking about? He has a lot of valid points. I don't believe it's coming on the 360 anyway, but for the 360 only people I'd feel shitty if they played this game dumbed down, because a B team ported it. MGS4 a quality game; actually, it's the only real reason I bought the PS3 initially (but since, i've found a couple games I can play). What he's doing is not fanboyism...thats the truth. My god some PS3 fanboys are blind. |
Don't be so quick to call others blind.
As a gamer, I think Gebx made only two valid points:
1 - MS Marketing/Financing could of been spent on aquiring a new IP (I'm assuming MS will throw some money at Konami); and
2 - You don't use your "good" developers on a port, , Konami will use their best developers on new games, and their "B" team or "C" team to create the port. Therefore, the game is more likely to be buggy and have performance issues.
Even then, they're highly speculative (as is the whole thing anyway). I'm sure it wouldn't be a poor port regardless, especially if MS were to throw some money as he speculated in the first point I posted of his.
Some of his other points, although a few humourous, displayed fanboyism. Namely the one the person you quoted pointed out:
"MGS4 (ps3) made fun of DVD9's"
At best, that is childish.
Several other of his points shouldn't matter to a gamer (e.g. It will do poorly sales wise compared to the PS3 (Obvious I know...), which will then be used as ammo by PS3 fanboys) but he is a self-professed '360 fanboy' so I suppose that's legitimate(?).
MGS4 was trumpeted as a PS3 exclusive, on that would turn the tide, and ideed it's moved nearly 4m copies since release.
I haven't played it, not owning a PS3, but having (yet) another AAA title on my console would be welcomed.
If MSG4+ comes out on the 360 and sells well, it'd be even more reason to bring out the next one (if made) on the 360 sooner than 12 months out.
Really, it's all about the benjamins and Konami isn't owned by Sony, so they'll likely do what makes financial sense.

Oh come on, the thread will die if people starts making sense.

If anyone else can think of anything.. please add it on. I know I'm not the only fanboy who isn't looking forward to this announcement at E3. |
Wow there are actually intelligent people on vg CHARTZ!
TOTALLY AGREE
especially last point
Year old Ports = PS3......us 360 people aren't used to year old ports & don't care for them
MGS4 & its 100 min cutscenes can go to hell for all I care

MGS4 did make fun of DVD's and claimed superiority of Blu Ray. It was a full insult from Kojima to the owners of the 360. He's not being childish.
Whatever you want to say...if you say so.
