Always expected this to release in JAPAN this year. If it doesn't I'll be surprised.

MGS story in japanese.... ehh will probably make more sense.
Wouldn't you rather the game be given a full polish and time to fix all the bugs before its released rather than throwing it out onto the market as a lifesaver for the PS3?
A delayed game will eventually be a good game, a bad game is bad forever... unless you love patches and lots of them.

All 3 MGS games have released within one month of each other in Japan and NA. MGS3 actually hit the States a month before it hit Japan. Considering this and the fact that even today's trailer reconfirmed the "Worldwide Simultaneous Release" mentioned at E3, it will definately at least hit JP and NA at the same time, if not all territories.
However, I'm seriously doubting this rumor. The image that contains the date is supposedly from the official Konami TGS website. I can't find this website, and it may not even exist, let alone have this date on it.

Or maybe they will finish the game earlier then expected, thus releasing it early then expected. There is no way Konami would release MGS4 unless it was perfect with no bugs.
If it does release before christmas it would do wonders for the PS3. Other than R&C and Unreal, this is the only proven BIG IP releasing before christmas.

Yes because I'm sure Konami is not under any pressure what-so-ever by Sony to get that game out ASAP and all along have been secretly pumping even more money to the money-pit of a game MGS4 has become for Konami to get it out early as possible as if that's actually going to lessen the profit losses on the games projected sales.
That aside it's clearly common place for games come out earlier than expected these days right? You know, like Geist, and that was an awesome game right? Right?
Hey, I've seen games in the works for like five years, and they come out done and still suck.

Well that doesn't mean releasing them earlier is going to make them suck any less.
