Seeing the Enterprise kick some ass would have been nice. Other than that, I really enjoyed the movie. I like how, instead of rebooting the franchise, they created a (suspension of disbelief) plausible story that explains why things are different and why we're back with the original crew of the Enterprise. The casting was great and for half the movie, I kept asking myself "Where the *&$^ is Scotty?... When he did appear, the payoff was grand (Simon Pegg ROFL). Overall, a close to perfect action movie by Abrams. It's fun, it's entertaining, and the dialogue doesn't make you want to jab icepicks into your ears. Some of the fan service in the movie was classic: Nero pulling a Kirk but instead of "Khan!" he's yelling "Spock!", McCoy using his "damn it!" line, and Scotty's "I'm givin' her all she's got!" lines... Hilarious.
