I just saw star trek today... Omg, it was one of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

The movie is a continuation to the original star trek series.. And yet it's the beginning of a new star trek series.

I highly reccommend it. Plenty of action, plenty of comedy (and in-jokes) and plenty of phasers.

I would give it a 9 out of 10.

What did everyone else think?

I've never been a huge Star Trek fan, but I loved it; one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

Me neither. The most I've seen of star trek has been a couple of episodes, the crappily boring first "movie" and several pop culture references.

Yeah, I really loved all the special effects, and I knew enough Star Trek stuff to get most of the jokes and such in there.

I guess I'll black out my comments, just in case I potentially spoil stuff.

 

I thought it was cool that they pretty much nerfed everything, yet keeping some continuity with the old spock coming back. They also had some homages to the old series, which I liked too. 

I like how Future Spock pretty much nerfed the whole "meeting my future self will create a paradox and destroy the universe" plot line; that sort of made me lol.

I say well done, and I hope most of the actors will reprise their role in any sequels that are produced.

The current star trek universe was getting too convoluted and stupid IMO, a reset at this time was needed.

The public and critic opinion of it is the highest I've seen for any film in the last few years...

This one gets my ultimate seal of approval. Its definately something which Star Trek desperately needed and it was delivered! The movie was amazing to watch, it was quite a spectacle. Its something that would get me to actually buy a Blu Ray movie ZOMG!

Tim saw it as well, and his experience was pretty close to mine. He just has to add his thoughts when he gets back from California.
