Forums - Gaming - A port/multiplatform announcement at E3 is not a Megaton.

Valkyria, you can't be serious. "Megaton" announcements are about people's reactions to them, and nothing else. FFXIII on the 360 was one of the biggest megatons in years, and that it would be topped by pretty much any kind of "surprise" this year borders on the absurd.

Granted, a Zelda game would be a megaton, in all likelihood, but that's only because people would react to it that way. MGS4 on the 360 might be a megaton - FFvXIII might too. It depends on how people react.

excacly, stealing FFXIII was such a schocker, no one expected it including me, now we all expect MS to do it again, so the reaction is more which game?

And once again i feel like we are expecting way too much for E3.

Now keep in mind I don't mean to imply that surprises are the only megatons.

You can see at about 0:20 that this here is a megaton.

An already announced game is still coming also to another system. I fail to see how thats a big deal....except like I said for the Rtard fans.

What you see as a big deal has absolutely nothing to do with what merits a "megaton" announcement.

You know the term "megaton" gets a bit more stupid everytime we use it. I mean you feel dumb saying it =P

Im just expressing what a megaton would be to me. New surprising games are. An unreleased game still coming for more consoles is not unless your an insane fanboy. Period.

I wouldnt care if Halo went to PS3 or Mario on 360. I still get to play it. Its surprsing yes but its still the same game we already knew about not surprising not megaton. TO ME

Nothing is a "megaton" based on one person's reactions. You can't really have personal megatons. "Megaton" in this context means that it causes an intense reaction in many, many people. If you have to include the phrase "TO ME" then you are not describing a criteria for judging a megaton announcement.

I'm with Khuutra here. If the Internet "goes down" due to an announcement, it's a megaton. That's the objective criteria :P

They did though. Our site, IGN, gamespot, and many others had server overloads 60 seconds after the announcement and it took like 20 minutes to get them back up. It's the biggest megaton of the internet age because of that alone. I don't really give two shits about it myself, but I can appreciate what that announcement managed to accomplish. I also don't think anything could have that same effect this year, but we'll see.

I hear if that happens, then Obama is literally dropping an atomic bomb to celebrate. He's a big Duke Nukem fan. Let's hope  for our sake and our children's sake that this megaton doesn't happen.

Almost Every Gaming website on July 14 was down when FFXIII went to the 360...Shock,Denial,DC,petitons to keep FFXIII exclusive for the PS3... Final fantasy 13 is a prime example of  A HUGE megaton...

What i am trying to say here is Yes multiplat's/Ports are megaton's(hate using that word:P)
