Edit: College football players... sorry bout the title.

Anyone notice this?

Someone has finally decided to sue the NCAA and EA for the fact that they use the actual players but just change their names so they're random.

Should be interesting to see how it works.

You can't just pay the athletes because it is illegal for them to make money while playing college football. However, the universities can spend millions and make millions on their sports programs. The student athletes might be give a free scholarship and a slim chance to go pro. The whole university profiting from sports is pretty sickening. I love college sports but it just seems more and more like complete bullshit business especially with the BCS. BCS can kiss my ass and should be disbanded or at least transformed into a 8 team play off system.

Looks like EA has to bring out their lawyers with this lawsuit and the NFL lawsuit (former players).

Yeah.  I'm saying it shouldn't be illegal for them to make money while playing college football.  College Atheltes should be paid since they are making their universitys tons of money.

It's practically slave labor for anyone without a scholarship.

Yea, the student athletes probably should be given a share of the money considering that all major colleges sell jerseys of their most popular players. They have their number and it is obvious what player that jersey is for. They just don't have the name of the player on the back and that is supposed to make it all honky dory.

Preach it man, preach it.  D1-AA has a playoff at the end of the season, why can't D1-A?  The whole thing is a masive farce.

At the moment bowl games are the only thing most college football players get out of the expeirence.  Well of those who go to bowl games.

You get "Prize baskets".  Which are legal becaeuse... I'm not sure really.

For example everyone who went to the Holiday Bowl got a Nintendo Wii in 07.

The suit is also against the NCAA. I would love to see them get taken down a peg or two.
