Forums - Sony - Why This is PS3’s Year

haevy rain looks good.

it's dismissive to say that heavy rain and infamous could fare poorly. well of course that could happen. the more important point is that sony is taking innovative chances with their software. what the hell is microsoft doing that is anywhere near what heavy rain is doing? even killzone 2 was a big risk. do you honestly believe microsoft would have dumped 60 million dollars on the sequel of a game that was generally panned? no way. what microsoft has shown with their moneymakers is that they believe change is bad, and that they will give you more of the same. now why is that a company you would want to stand behind and worship?

was no one else slightly disappointed that both halo 3 and gears 2 bore so many similarities to their predecessors?

even the resistance series (of which i am not a fan) boasted significant graphical upgrades).

art is the excrement of culture

Has the year finally come?

you make this thread 20 days before E3? really?

For some reason, I hate pictures with that character so much. It's not good looking, she looks horrible, the colors are very pale... I don't know! >_<

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

LOL every online site about games always has 200X is the year of the ps3. give it a rest, seriously. people wonder why the ps3 is hated. it is hated because of the people who own it and go around saying stuff like "PS3 FTW!!" The PS3 always had good games. we dont have to go saying "this is the year" every single year.

I absolutley hate Sony "oh were so hated and alone" fanboy propoganda. Honestly the system is great and is selling in last place. People like the guy who wrote this need to get over it and just enjoy the PS3 after all its a great piece of hardware. Its this train of thought that give Sony fans a bad name.

I don't think Sony understand the whole "we're so hated and alone" idea (that of the rebel), or they would market from this perspective better.  All they know is what it is to be the top dog, and when they are not, they have a hard time competing.  If they actually recalled what it was like back in the original Playstation days, they might have a shot at marketing better.  As of now, there is a distinct cognitive dissonance between what Sony thinks, and their fans think.

And the PS3 hardware is fine for what it is.  It can do the job, for the most part.  Their exclusives are at least on par with Dreamcast stuff as being notable and memorable.  It is worth owning.  I will say that people should chill a bit, and either Sony get the "We are cool rebel and underdog" down right, or the fanboys end up acting like they have more class (of course acting like you have class when you are a fanboy likely fits in the impossible category).

Not to mention the probable Team ICO announcement at E3, though I wouldn't underestimate Microsoft or Nintendo.

Now you've done it, Squillam!

Who's Tim, btw? famousringo? :P

Tim is not Famousringo. Im talking about the real McCoy of Wii exclusives here, the holy grail! Famousringo is not the holy grail we seek.

TIM was awesome on the PC.  Mechanic Master on the DS approximates it to some degree.  I didn't think Gravity was all that though.  So the Wii is getting a remake of the PC TIM as an exclusive?  That is cool!

ps3 had best games last year...............trend is continuing this year especially 1st 6 months.

end of 09 its looking like again ps3 will have best titles.
