Forums - Gaming - Keyboard Mouse Controls for Consoles

Does anyone know how hard it will be for developers/console makers to allow you to use a USB Mouse and Keyboard for some games? I'm talking not so much FPS's, but RTSs.

I love the Total War series (Medieval I and Rome Total War), and I'll love it if Creative Assembly and SEGA could release a PS3 and 360 version of Medieval II and Empire with the option of allowing you to use a mouse and keyboard, as I'm not a computer guy and I don't want to spend time, money, and effort on building a PC.

If this feature was easy to implement, will you be for it or against it? I don't think it hurts PC owners, and the only objection I can find is that it gives an unfair advantage in FPS's online.

Would be a really cool idea, i just mentioned summit about it in another thread, about using keyboard and mouse if sims 3 was ported to ps3

Depends on the game's design. Having to cater to completely different controller types can sometimes make a game lose focus.

sorry about this, going just a tad off topic here....

Does Killzone 2 or Socom support Keyboard and Mouse support?

I just got a bluetooth keyboard for the PS3 for $9.99 (thrift store, still in box) and before I buy a mouse just want to know if it would be worth it..

I'm sure it could be done, the Wii and i'm sure the HD systems already support keyboard (and mouse?) use. I would however question the value of releasing PC like games with PC controls on a console.
