Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Agrees to Acquire BigPark Inc.

I wonder what it is. We should surely hear something about it at E3.

Can't wait.

Well I am intrigued to say the least, if a game company has not made a game yet and then a company like MS buys them up it must be at least a decent title

So they acquired developer that has neve made a single game? Strange move... Financial details are not available?

They've been working on an exclusive game for the 360, and they have a lot of experience. Plus they wouldn't have to pay as much as a company who has a lot of games.

Interesting development indeed. Microsoft must have incredibly high expectations. Over the last year they have been dissolving studios, and folding staff inward. So for them to make this move is quite out of character. I wouldn't wager on it being a sports title however. I would suspect it is a action adventure title in the works. That would be their answer to God of War, or even Uncharted. That is what Microsoft seems to be needing a strong exclusive action adventure series. That even out their offerings, and honestly give them an alternative to everything Sony has.

It's doubtful it'll be a "real" sports game, the only reason MS did them initially was because EA wouldn't jump on Xbox Live, so we had Links etc. Then once they jumped online, MS canned Indie Built and dispanded the whole "XSN" thing, because YOU DON'T REALLY NEED 1st party sports game as long as EA supports you.

Saying that though, it could be a "fake" sport like Deathrow or Speedball, something unique.

I'd stick to Eyetoy/Lips/Scene It/Arcade level guesses for the moment.

Apparently MS have been working with them on a game for the past year and it'll be at E3.
