Forums - Sony - (Rumor) Grand Turismo 5 at E3?? Plus leaked track list

It doesnt work that way. Sony can keep selling any game that was made whe they owned the rights to develop F1 games. But with F1 it means that anything associated with F1 ( meaning any car ever, any team ever or any driver ever ) can not be done by Sony. Absolutely anything that comes under the F1 umbrella. Why do you think when Sony had the rights there was not even a GP Legends typ game made? Even the GP4 mods ect were done by public people and not a development studio.

If you know much about Bernie Ecclestone, You'd know what I mean. :)

Thats why I can't give any credit to this article, or post. However I expect 100% to see GT5 at E3. If not then I wont expect it to release till May 2010.

Isn't it possible that they can get permission from each of the individual teams? Considering Sony have had access before is this not a possibility? I mean, with Bernie Ecclestone you can never know...

Off topic, weird start to the F1 season or what? McClaren & Ferrari... wtf?!

Spa, Silverstone, Hockenheim, Shangai, Zolder, Magny Cours, Monza, Estoril, Imola, plus all the older GT tracks? Please, let it be true....it'll be my dream game. It'd be the most awesome thing that can happen to a GT, I've been asking for Spa and Silverstone in GT since ages

What's the chance of this being true? I don't wanna believe this right away and be disappointed

Want to see it. Hope it has the previously alluded-to damage modeling implemented. An absolute must for any driving sim these days.

Before Sony had the rights, many developers used to get permission from the FIA for use of the liscense and teams and drivers. Thats why in N64 and PS1 days, there were several F1 games by different developers.

Unfortunately for Sony All the drivers teams belong to the FIA liscense. I imagine the only way they could do it is to pay Codemasters.

Thats ehy many games while Sony had the liscense went with F3000 or Formula 2.

How annoying... they could have done so much more with the F1 license in GT4 and GT5:Prologue. Oh well... I just have to hope they put in either Silverstone or the new Donnington track (assuming it ever gets finished). At least I'll be able to drive around them in my Lancer.

If Sony was still holding the rights for the 2007 season I hope they could still keep the F2007 in there, as well as other cars from that season.  It's hard to imagine they put the effort to model the car for prologue knowing they would be unable to use it for the full game.

Honestly I don't have much faith on Codemasters and their F1 game... and I am not saying F1 games were any good when Sony was holding the license.  Actually there hasn't been a good F1 game/sim I can't remember except F1:CE and user created mods.

Btw which are these "many" F3000 and F2 games developed while Sony did hold the license?  F2 has not been around for more than 20 years and F3000 for some 5.

The 600 cars and 94 tracks have been confirmed already, but the track list and the F1 tibit is news to me.

hey leo-j...assuming u just recently became a racing fan....u probably dont have a steering wheel....get one...it's a must...the gaming experience fun factor go up about ten fold.....

i was a racing fan since first GT...but always used a controller....until GT5P....and OMG....it just felt so different....i couldn't believe i've been using a controller all that time....never thought steering wheel could have made such a difference

Not actual games based on those. But games like Grid, Toca Race Driver and Race Pro. These games have either F3000, Formula BMW, Formula Renault etc etc. Sony had the liscense for about 5 years right? I cant remember when they got it. To be honest the F1 Sony games were so bad, I'm not surprised I dot know. :)
