This wouldn't be such an issue if reviews were presented as they should be: as a retrospective of one person's experience with something very specific at a specific time and place. Ever since reviews started putting on airs and getting people to treat them as some sort of alpha-and-omega deal-maker/deal-breaker piece that tells you everything you need to know about a product, this factor of reviewing has been lost.
So, while reviews shouldn't be re-written when a new experience is had, acknowledgment of new experiences is still important. And one should never invest one's beliefs solely in the presentations of other peoples' opinions, particularly not if said opinions were expressed in a very different context than the one you're in. Or to put it another way, always keep in mind WHEN a review was written and in what mindset before you make any sort of decision based upon it.
