Forums - Microsoft - Xbox 360 motion controller games outlined

With or without Microsoft’s involvement the Xbox 360 will get a motion controller this year. Third party accessory maker PDP has the Gametrak Freedom ready to ship out this year. The device acts similar to the Wii where your shakes and swings are translated into in game actions.

Since there aren’t any motion controlled Xbox 360 games in stores yet the device comes bundled with eleven kinds of games in Squeeballs: Island Party. They are:

Tenpin Bowling – See the Squeeballs cower as the ball approaches and hear them laugh if you miss them. Curve the ball left or right after you’ve thrown it by circling your arm clockwise (curves right) or counter-clockwise (left).

Feeding Frenzy – Fire the correct Squeeballs at the hungry El Toro’s or they will eat you.

Cannon – Swing the racket at the Squeeballs as they are fired at you. Accuracy and distance are key.

Cooking – Dice, slice, grate, season, and stir Squeeballs in special dishes prepared for El Toro.

Crazy Lanes – Bowling down the wackiest, curvy lanes ever with lava and bombs to avoid.

Paint by Squeeballs – Catapult the correct Squeeballs to get the right colors on the right picture.

Creature Testing Belt – Follow the Squeeballs on the conveyor belt. Pop, slice and punch as you must.

Pumping – Inflate the Snoods with the right amount of air and fly them through the course.

Squeeball Golf – Aim, spin your arms and send Octo flying through the air, skimming the water and find dry land.

Shock – Steady as she goes along the electric wire or else.

Stampede – Fire the Crabooms at the approaching Squeeballs before they reach you.

More bowling, cooking, and golf? Hopefully, the rumored Microsoft funded controller is put to better use. A first person fighting game like Breakdown or a Populous-like real time strategy game where you physically pick up units with your fingers would stand out.

Didn't you control a hand in Black & White? Lionhead's new game?

I hope this doesn't become a big thing on the 360 cause i don't want more shovelware on the 360

I hope so...cause the last thing i want to see on the 360 is birthday simulations and such.

Microsoft and Sony have a much stricter policy on what is allowed on their system unlike Nintendo that's why you see so much shovelware on the Wii.

A game must pass Microsoft Certification to be able to come to the platform sam with Sony and Nintendo problem with Nintendo is they literally will let any game be made for their system. While Sony and Microsoft will deny a game certification if its shovelware.

As for the game it looks fun. I hear the controller has much better motion sensing capabilities than the wiimote. As mentioned in hands on previews I have read on this game and controller.

How our favorite systems are just like humans and sometimes have issues finding their special someone...

Xbox 360 wants to KinectPS3 wants to Move!  Why are both systems having such relationship problems?  The reason is they both become so infactuated with desire while watching the Wii as it waggles on by. They simply want what they can't have.

Do you have a source for this?  cuz there are some pretty shitty games that have been on the 360.

i hope that rare makes a good game for it. it would be so awesome

This is a third party controller so I doubt M$ first parties will support it. Maybe, just maybe, if the controller becomes big, then they might.
