Is it even hate, or is it just a general lack of confidence?

I mean, saying "the PS3 won't reach 10m" a few years ago doesn't seem any more off-base than saying "the PS3 will outsell the 360" now. It's all speculation based on little-to-no real data, just pessimism or optimism.

Now, saying "the PS3 will end this generation in dead last, according to a linear regression of its current trends," however, actually has a great deal of merit.

 I think at this point the PS3 has become a parody of itself, and as a result gets opened mocked.  Even more entertaining is when "MGS4" or "KZ2" is supposed to quiet the detractors.  Quite simply, PS3 owners don't "get it."  They have become part of the joke. 

I agree. I never expected any form of logic on the internet but it's simply not funny anymore. It used to be. Now i'm no longer sure i even want ot read any of these posts or threads.

I think some people felt threatened by the PS3 resurgence.

Now that the price cut seems some way away and Sony seems to be booked for third the threat level has fallen and people dont need to make the comments they made.

Maybe also people just got bored

PS3 is the best console. The hate was jealously.

What resurgance? Some two months in japen? I fear the Ps3 is booked for third place. But that's a better third place than the GC and with a lot more games.
