Forums - Microsoft - New Risen-Video! This looks great.

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/48861.html

Here is a new video of the RPG "Risen". Risen will be released on PC and Xbox360.

Again, it would be nice if one of you could insert the video. It does not work on my PC.

I really want to see some gameplay. The atmosphere is great so far, which is one of the most important things in a RPG imo.

What do you think?

I thought the screenshots looked great. But this trailer, and the other enviorment trailers aswell, was bad. Looks like theyve zoomed in on the citylife of games like Civilization, Empire and Farao.

looks alright. I will buy this for sure because it reminds me so much of Gothic 3 in perfect tweaked settings.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Reminds me of Jason and the argonauts.

Funny movie... It doesn't make me want the game any more or less... Whats it suposed to convey aside from the artistic direction?

Tease.

None of their trailers have shown anything except the scenery. I wont be excited for this until they show some gameplay.

I have noticed that it is always scenery as well, and I am not entirely sure what to make of that. On one hand you would think well it is impressive their attention to breathing life in a world. Then on the second hand you have to say what kind of game is this exactly. Why are they not showing actual game play. The only rational answer is that the mystery is part of their promotion.

Which is not entirely a bad approach, but it is a double edged sword. Draw the process out too long, and you run a substantial risk of being labeled a schmuck. Which is what is happening in this thread. This developer is walking that fine line between interest, and utter disgust. Either this game speaks for itself soon, or it is going to be labeled garbage, or worse completely forgotten.

Everyone knows if you do not see combat shorty after the movies start to come out it means one of two things vaporware, or the combat is very crappy. Either way it ceases to be worth paying attention. I think I am going to call it vaporware if I see another scenery movie.
