Thats silly, if Microsoft choses to do something its because they think its in their enlightened self interest. There can be no wrong reason, because if they do it its only to improve their business prospects in some way.

I agree with slime's price predictions. + the Valhalla CGPU model will cut costs by about at least $25 anyway and that is slated for a Fall 09 launch.

Microsoft is not making any profits with the 360 yet, so adding another price cut, after just having one 6 months ago could mean trouble, but what might happen is that microsoft may drop the price of the arcade version by $20

Most likely will happen, then the 360 will be $100 cheaper than the Wii and the Elite will be the same price as an entry level PS3 if the PS3 price drops $100.

Price cuts are the reason I haven't and won't be picking up a 360 until the next xbox launched. Its not worth buying the system at any price when I know 6 months down the road it will be a lot cheaper. Same with a lot of electronics actually - and the games themselves.
