So the "DVD drive being slower than the Blu-Ray drive" is somehow related to the discs having only 6.8GB of usable space?  So the DVD drive must be responsible for using the extra space on the discs then?  And the Blu-Ray drive being slower than the DVD drive must be why it is better than the 360s drive?  And the read speed and seek times of Toshiba drives are the same as the 360s?  Noooooope.

It was rightly claimed the not used space would improve average read speeds regarding 360 discs.

I thought that was a good point by this person and his comment moved the discussion towards drive performance. .

For instance if they only allowed 5GBs or less of storage, average read speeds and worst case scenario seektimes would be improved further.

Well, IMO you moved it off topic by starting the off topic debate on drive performance and when you began claiming the Blu-Ray drive was faster than the 360s DVD drive.

I'm very interested in seeing what OnLive will do.  I heard its been perceptible though that it streams a bit though.  And that assessment was shared by a tech writer before the service even had the load of regular subscribers.  I think in the long term this may be the direction.  I wonder if OnLive is a bit too early though.  Microsoft I am sure will hedge their bets on this kind of technology just as they did by throwing their hat into the whole gaming console industry.

They wanted to hedge their bets and make sure they would have a strong position at home in the living room.  And with money to burn it only made sense for them to branch out in this way to make sure they have more methods to make money beyond their intial business model.

Its a different matter if you don't agree with him. Yes he favors the PS3 with his analysis but at least he tries to say something reasonable not like a rabid fanboy resort to personal attacks.

Then I am sorry but you have fallen for his schemes.  The posts look that way, but if you actual check his sources, they eitehr don't fully apply or don't apply at all to the situation and he uses one quote that appears correct.

The alt acccount thing was a joke since we just recently discovered that he used alternate accounts to converse with himself in other forums before.  Although you did join after him, have relatively few posts compared to other members of a year plus, share many same game interests as Mike, and have a vague description with just enough info to make people think you are unique.  MikeB used to be a programmer, and I'm sure he's visited New York before.

Oh, and unfortunately MikeB does resort to personal attacks on many an occasion.  Please read through his posts carefully, and notice how people are always picking through them to determine he was wrong and that the sources don't match what he is trying to prove.
