Forums - Sony - Rumour: PS4 Now In Development.. to be launched by 2012?

The "power" of the PS3 has nothing to do with its position in the market. They don't need a *more* powerful device. They need a smaller, cheaper device.

Slimline PS3 in 2012 would do just fine.

But fans will demand a more powerful console. A slimline PS3 will not be whatb they want, and they will feel cheated. They have to go up or not sell. The other way wont work either..........

@ theprof00
So, the PS3 only has #17 in it?

^^^ I'm with you on Sony not bolting on the discontinuing the ps3, but I'm not about those many console being sold ltd. Sorry, but looking at your sig's estimates, I'm not sure how you figure that the ps3 will get there, and if that's what you're using for your estimates...well....

2009: 15 million - 34.50

2010: 16 million - 50.50

2011: 13 million - 63.50

2012: 9 million - 72.50

^thats what I think it'll be

Now let's see what 60 million sold by 2012 looks like just to show how reasonable it looks.

2009: 12 million

2010: 13 million

2011: 9 million

2012: 6 million

With those numbers (which look very low and easily do-able for the PS3) totals 59.5 million by the end of 2012.

@pikaboo
I like to think of the wii and 360 as the androids, so it hasn't eaten any yet

i don't think it can hit 15 million this yr or 16 million next... so far it is selling below last yr numbers n 1.3 of the yr is over... so 15 million is next to impossible

I hate all this talk of next gen. Feels like we've barely had any time to enjoy this gen....

Yeah, the sky is blue, cars use gas and our president is black.

Things everyone already knows like another Sony console in development.

Start duct taping those PS3's together
