Are you kidding me? This is the same logic that Bush used to enter the war in Iraq. They won’t let us look for WMD’s, then they must have them, and we will act accordingly.

I don't think Obama is going to add these corporations to the Axis of Evil. :)

Corporations have been a part of Obama's personal "Axis of Evil" for a long time.

Both presidents have those they despise. For Bush, it was Iraq. For Obama, it's big business.

He ran on a campaign of putting down corporations, and how they are what's wrong with the US. When Wall Street spends 165 million in bonuses (money they were contractually obligated to disperse by the way), Obama is "Outraged", yet with the leader of Iran calls Israel the most cruel and repressive racist regime, Obama is "disappointed".

Good thing we have a congress. Let's hope they start doing there job.

Yeah, helping out the largest group of citizens (I would say that is most people making under $50,000.00 a year, rather than the minority probably those making over $250,000.00 and the handful of billionaires that are the heads of big business.

Well... that would make him like Bush then.  After all Bush was the best president at slowing the growth of the Gini Coeffcient since WW2.

People always accuse Bush of letting "The rich get richer while the poor get pooer" but statistically... he did it the least.

Me i think you represent all the people.  There are plenty of cases where disciminating against small groups leads to big benefits... but said cases are still wrong.

I guess except for him and his buddies that were benefitting from his war for oil and higher gas prices.

So how do you feel about them raising taxes for the highest margin from 36% to 39%?

I think it's means nothing.

My boss and his wife made 110K last year. They have three kids, and own a home. The total income tax they paid, was 10k.

They paid less then 10% in taxes, and they are in a high tax bracket.

We need a flat tax, and we need it now.

Also, the answer is not more taxes (not that I am against it if we need it). The answer is less spending. Our government is spending ungodly amounts of money.

Flat tax or not... what we really need is to just get rid of all deductions.

No deductions.  You just pay a percentage of your income... period.

No discounts even for kids... screw it.

Heres the thing about that.

Oil Companies are one publiclly traded... and are really popular in retirment funds for working americans.  These "buddies" you talk about are largely middle class families.

Unless your talking about the CEOs.... except they didn't benefit at all.  As the AIG thing showed you... CEO's will get their bonuses no matter how well they do... and Oil companies were doing well even before Iraq.

This isn't "There will be blood."

Oil barons don't exist anymore.

Pie chart for the above statement... partly to make Vagabond laugh if he comes back.

So assuming 30% of those people who could own stock are all rich friends of his.

The common man still makes $2 to $1 for every dollar apparently made by these guys.

Do yourself a favor, and do some research. Stop spouting off the democratic party line, and think for yourself.

When you look deeply into both Bush and Obama, you will find they are both very much alike fiscally.

I find it funny that most people who hate Bush love Obama, and vise-versa. There are far more ways they are alike then they are different.

It's why I dislike them both.

I am turning 40 this year, and still waiting for a President I can be proud of. I will probably die before I see one.

Yeah because Bush is no longer president.  Obama is.  And hopefully, he'll redistribute at least a bit of their excess wealth to people that really need it.

Oil Barons don't exist anymore because of Obama?  Is that what you were trying to say?  If so... just no.

I consider myself a common man and I'm pretty sure that for every $4+ I was putting in my gas tank a couple of years ago another $1 to $2 wasn't mysteriously appearing back in my wallet.

Ok.  Here is a question.  Do you know how buisnesses work?

Here is a quick quiz.

What happens to profits companies make... do they

A) Get reinvested into the company... which raises the value of the stock.  Which raises the money the stock is worth.  Which raises the value of the people who own the stock.  (The majority of the stock being owned by common middle to lower class people.)

B) Put in a big vault for the CEO to swim in.

C) Thrown in a furnace as an alternitive fuel.

When Oil comapnies do better... common people benefit more in stock prices then rich people.   This is ignoring the fact that a lot of the individual investors are likely middle class guys too.

It's the risky stocks that the rich people make a killing on and raise the gini coeeficient on.  The stuff that has a 65% chance of success and quadrupling your money... but a 35% chance of causing you to lose all your invested money.  That's the kind of ventures that the middle class can't get in on cause they need that money.  Unlike the rich who can play it like a game of roulette.
