stopped reading right there.

Then you missed the fact that all I used from the story was two quotes. Obama either said them, or he didn't. There is no bias in the part of the story I extracted.

Only bias on your inability to read information and discern it's validity.

My biggest fear is a duality of protectionist/isolationist ideals (Pres. Obama did run on these).

My fear is that we are more worried about who to blame if and when our country burns to the ground rather than what do we do to fix it...

I am a Pakistani.....my name is Dan....how hard is that? (Don't ask about the 101...apparantely there are more of me out there....)

"The way to make American businesses competitive is not to let some citizens and businesses dodge their responsibility, while ordinary Americans pick up the slack. Unfortunately, that's exactly what we're doing"

It's very true. Most of the millionaires in these multi-million dollar corporations don't give two pfffts in a fountain about the plight of folks making under $30,000.00 a year. Now, someone will bring up charity donations from Republicans but if you're getting all those donations back in your tax returns where's the charity in that?

"If financial institutions won't cooperate with us, we will assume that they are sheltering money in tax havens and act accordingly."

Heck, there are a lot of little buerocrats in many of our small towns sheltering money and you want to think it never enters the minds of even richer folks to do likewise?

Then the big comparison, this is just like what Bush did? Yeah right, Bush fought a war for oil to fatten his and his best friends pockets while not giving a crap what poorer Americans had to pay each week to drive to work. And, if Mccain was president now gas prices would be well over $5.00 a gallon.

Are you kidding me? This is the same logic that Bush used to enter the war in Iraq.

I hope Obama declares war on capitalism.

Explain to me how increasing the financial burden of a corporation, makes them more competitive?

Corporations that follow the law have a disadvantage to corporations that dont.

The responsibility of CEOs is to bring about the most money for their shareholders, not to be Robin Hoods.

Any 10 yr old can read this as extortion.

He is not talking about corporations that break the law. He is talking about changing the law that corporations follow.

Give the guy a break, he has his hands full trying to fix George W. Bush's mess.
