Yes.  Obama had a premade script of who would be allowed to ask ?s.  (Almost all of the journalists allowed were from liberals)  Major Garrett could only take notes and was not allowed to ask a ?.  So much for freedom of the press.

Our televised press are not allowed to show extreme political views towards one party. This is the problem in the USA, you have the most extremist people on the news and FOX is the worst of them. I can see why Obama would not want them there because they would try to humiliate him. But that is why British televised politics is like that ,so we don't get that scenario where the primeminister would have to freeze out certain news companies, which in the end offers a greater range of press freedom.

If you know what I mean, that last statement by me was a little higgledepigglede lol. Anyway, I'm agreeing with you that it is bad. but saying how Britain overcame that problem.

You mean like every other administration?  At least Obama allows follow-up questions, unlike Dumbya, who got downright shitty about it.

Major Garrett is a professional non extremist that works for Fox News.  I don't see the problem with FNC as it does its job--reporting the news.  I watch CNN sometimes too but I have all my favs on FNC and Fox (Hell's Kitchen, 24, etc.)  MSNBC is just a turn off for me though.  Anyway, there should always be freedom of the press no matter which side you side on, lib or cons.  Press conferences should be utilized to get info to all channels of the media.

That's b/c the media hated him and he wanted to avoid lambasting criticism and get down to biz--usually that means the next person.  I can see there can be no debating you on left/right ideology so I will not say anything more.

yes I agree that all news stations should be free to cover politics, our system basically allows freedom for any member of the press to get involved with press conferences. But they just can't walk out and make an extreme story saying how one party is full of scum and another is lead by Jesus. It works quite well because it cuts out this situation where one news company have been frozen out.

Also, I know not everyone of FOX news is extremist, but I think you will agree that Bill O'Reilly isn't going sing Obamas praises anytime in the future lol.

Yeah unless something drastic happens like the waters parting and the skies clearing up after the One brings hope and change
