Forums - General - why are western countries so infatuated with japanese culture instead of..

don't worry. the actual number of Americans who are drawn to Japanese culture is a limited subset of those who play Videogames and such.

That being said, a lot of people ARE drawn to the mystique of ninjas and samurai and stuff; though I don't know if those Japanese things are more popular, than say, Chinese things like Kung Fu and stuff.

Nonetheless, I find it that guys are mainly into the Japanese anime and stuff, and Girls are REALLY REALLY into Korean live action dramas.

Alot Of Japanese owned Animations are actually done in Korea...Those made by the famous studios ofcourse are not...

oh, ok, theyre normally in Japanese and/or based in Japan though and refrence or show Japenese culture, which intrests people in the anime or in the manga, than they decide to learn more about the culture because of that

they call them K-Dramas for short. a lot of my friends are into this stupid Drama called "My Girl" or whatever.

 Korea is probably the country with the most cutest girls of the world (talking in %).

This also thx to plastic surgery that a lot of girls do in Korea (Korea get mocked for it by a lot of asian non korean girls).

 

Korea has also a lot of Western fans and thx to people like BOA. I even think she is probably the most well known asian singer worldwide.

journalism here in the uk is pretty rotten, theres only a couple of good papers and the same with tv news

if you mean western cartoons are 99% drivel, then i agree, The Simpsons and Futurama are the only non-anime cartoons i watch

reality tv i hate with a passion

The independant seems to be the only one that isn't overly-sensationalist anymore. The Guardian is, but luckily it's sensationalism I agree with lol.

 

Western cartoons are good for the humour, south park springs to mind. But it does not expand outside of this lol

And yes reality TV is shit lol
