Why don't I like football? Hmm, where to start.
1. It's incredibly boring.
2. Footballers are overpaid ponces.
3. Most fans take if far to seriously.
4. There aren't enough career ending injuries.

But it does make me laugh when you see fans crying cause their team lost a big match. Other peoples misery always cheers me up.

Interesting obviously this is very opinionated

It's incredibly boring.

 Dissagree

Footballers are overpaid ponces.

Premiere league players are so kind of correct

Most fans take if far to seriously.

Its called passion. When you enjoy something you are enthusiastic about it.

There aren't enough career ending injuries.

That is extreamly depressing that you want fellow human beings to have career ending life changing injuries. Only Joey Barton deserves that punishment.

In England football is a major part in peoples lives.

In USA religion is a major part of peoples live.

I'ts comical

Actually, I'd probably rank the NFL above religion in this country. It's hard to find a place that doesn't center around the sport from August-January.

So your saying more people nationally watch/spectate whatever a NFL match every week than go to a place of worship?  I find that hard to believe.

In England a programme called Match of the day attracts 5 million people every week.  so 5 million people out of 60million watch a specific football programme.

There are 60 million people in England? Wha? I don't understand your point...

Besides, the NFL is constructed entirely differently. Games are played on (mostly) two days of the week with multiple games occurring at once. Most people watch a local game, though Monday Night Football attracts some pretty huge numbers (too lazy to be bothered to go look right now).

And I know plenty of people who either reschedule their church time or skip it entirely for football (not including those who just don't give a shit about church in the first place). As for the numbers, I don't really care. But the NFL is huge here (Wisconsin just about shuts down when the Packers are on).

edit: Okay, I see what you're saying. Basically one out of twelve people in England watch a certain match once a week.

I understand why you might be frustrated Rocketpig. I do have a tendency to generalize in order to see similarities and potential connections with things. You have to admit that American football, while it can be enjoyed by many people for different reasons, does attract some pretty mindless fans.

NFL games don't have riots where multiple people die time and again.  Soccer outside of the U.S. does have that happen.  Now I'm not going to call soccer fans mindless, because that would be unfair and not generally true, but you should mind your manners when speaking about NFL fans IMHO.  We are not out murdering people at games.  Thats whats mindless.  And where thats happening is in the occasional soccer match abroad.  So lets not turn this thread into an attack on Football (American Football) and its fans.  The topic was why don't you like soccer (World Football).

in England (English, being our language) its Football, so therefore, its Football on any website created in England and that uses English

English as you might imagine is the language of England

Americans speack American, which is different to English

Actually, technically we speak "American English".  But it is true that most English speaking countries call it "football".

thats a vast minority, and nothing like that has happend in the UK for years, i go see my local team play ever know and then, the attandence is normally around 1,000 people and many are under 16, familys go see football often here, and girls like football too, no-one has been murdered at a football match in the UK for years so far as i know, and football is alot less violent than gridiron is, for players i mean.

Biggest Bullshit ive ever heard in my life.

Firstly as you will most likely know there are more football fans world wide than any other sports so by odds your bound to have a few hot heads here and there. This is extreamly minimal. Maybe if NFL was a sport played by more than an extreamly tiny protortion of the world we might see a different outcome such as a killing every 5 years or so. Fortunatly this will never be the case with American football or eggball whatever its called.

And again i could come back to it, at least we arnt murdering people over religion facism. I here something called the KKK is still around. Yes, murdering in football is about aas minimal as that of the actions of the KKK. Its heard alot when it happens but its thts only because its so rare that it happens.

To be clear.  I said it only occurs occasionally and that I would not paint the typical soccer fan that way.  But if someone is going to start saying NFL fans are mindless in comparison we need to be fair on where mindless behavior occurs given the two.  And the death of fans at games is not happening in (American) Football.

at no point did i say that nfl fans were mindless

im not going down that road, otherwise will be here forever debating all the good and bad things fans of both sports have done.

*Read* my post.  Don't just glance at it and get inflamed.  mmnin said American football is what attracts mindless fans.

I am countering his point that the epitomy of mindless fans is in Soccer abroad.  But I said quite clearly that its not all fans and not generally the case with most soccer fans.  So I am NOT disparging your sport.  Instead I am merely defending against an unfair attack on one of ours.  If someone is going to try to call out NFL fans as attracting the mindless they should look in the mirror of Soccer first to see if the same (or worse) could be said of its fans.

You reacted to my response to mmnin.  And my response was from *him* saying that the NFL attracts mindless fans.
