This. Thankfully this is from BS rumor site and is prolly not true. Multiplatform is really the best way to go with the series. After sinking 300 hours into p3 and p4 I do NOT want to buy a new system to play the next one. If it is true, I might even cancel my Knights in the Nightmare and Devil Survivor preorders in protest.

 

Edit: And capcom announced MH3 for PS3 too. How'd that one work out for ya bud?

If it's true you then you might have miss 3 great games.

This coming from the guy who said "prolly true" from a fansite that has no basis in credability? Anyways, I don't mind being mad that a series I really love to play would go to a system I have no intention of buying. I mean, if it was like 250 or so I would buy one, but at the current price I am not. It's simply a waste of money.

And I will keep my preorders. I do want to play those games and get the spoils. But, I don't think this rumor is true, and if it is, it will be along time till I play persona 5 (especially due to the fact my friend who is also a big rpg and atlus fan [not to mention gust as well] sold his ps3, which means I could not even borrow it)

Would a Persona game really make any profit on PS3? I mean they are great games and all that but they don't seem to sell a huge amount of copies.

This could lead to a financial(sp?) disaster.



If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

Can we stop with all this assumptions that any exclusive PS3 games that sell below a million will not make profit or broke even? Last time I heard Yakuza 3 broken even, Shipping 500k?

Just like you and me we don't how many copies of a certain games need to sell in order to make a profit. Only publishers and game developers knows.

Well Persona 3 sold 220k in NA alone (and 210k in Japan looking few posts up)

then P3 FES has 340k in NA and Japan

Persona 4 is already at 560k WW

 

Sega told us they are breaking even on Yakuza 3 with 500k copies, if Atlus goes low budget with Disgaea 3 class graphics I'd say they should be breaking even at 300-400k - definitly possible on PS3 userbase.

AND there's always alternative of making it ps2 level of graphics and putting it into PSN.

Persona on PS3? not gonna happen. Atlus have financial troubles and is not a rich company to begin with.
Persona 5 would go either psp or wii. hd twins? very unlikely.
considering Persona 1 port on psp i would say that it was their attempt to know their fanbase on sony handheld and possible buyers of future Personas.
