lol, some(but not all) of the replies in this thread are completely jaded and ridiculous.

The editor of that blog made some very valid and obviously sincere criticisms of the flawed PS3 trophy system.

It seems to me like the Sony fans would rather have that system fixed, instead of defending it, just so they can claim equality to the 360 on such a meaningless level.

Here's something most people believe. Achievements, and they way they are implemented, are better than trophies.

When Sony releases a patch and actually fixes them, I'm sure we'll hear a lot of "hip hip hurras!" instead of people complaining that they liked them the old way.

You know, I've been on Steam for over a year, and I never even knew it had a trophy system.

I guess that goes to show you how broad reaching Microsoft's innovation was, this gen. :P

Anyway, there is no defending the loading or lookup time on oddly named PS3 trophies. It's rediculious, and for sheer convinience, it would make putting up with e-peen douches online worth it, just to not have to go digging to find out what you just unlocked.

I would just write "lol" and leave it at that, but I think that is called trolling.

As far as we see it zen, trophy system works better. What can be improved? the aesthetic?

The lag fix is coming and has been addressed by sony. That's really the only flaw.

Another complaint was about the gamercard... so what, I have this V

Digging? do you consider pressing 3 buttons "digging"?

and actually, when you earn a trophy, the pop-up will have an icon/picture of the trophy aswell as the name so the player will know what he/she had just unlocked.

I don't care for trophies, they don't really sit well with how I play games. I usually just look at the achievement list and target a few interesting achievements and set myself a goal. I don't want people to make judgements about how I play my games, if I have too many bronze and not enough gold trophies, and really I haven't even got an idea of where to find the trophy lists whilst with the Xbox 360 games I play they are listed and linked just off the main menu.
