Forums - Gaming - how big would it be if microsoft announce a portable gaming device at E3

maybe that's what they are hidding

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

About the same size as a 360 controller ;)

You get it? Oh well...

I don’t know not that big for me though

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

It would be a shock to me and would be huge xbox goodness on the road.

I think the world would end at that exact moment in time.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I doubt it.

It would be a huge calamity, to say the least.

The portable space isn't big enough to support 3 big portable gaming devices.. It'd be like the PS2 gen, I don't think it'd work out and I also don't think Microsoft want to have to worry about a portable gaming system on top of the 360

MS is just starting to get profits from their game division, somehow i doubt they want to sink more money into a portable, especially when they don't see the DS as a threat to Windows, which is why they starting fighting Sony in the first place.

Current DS sales: 102.16M
Current PSP sales:   46.83M

So a hair under 150M, with over 500k selling a week isn't big enough to support 3?
I'd say all MS has to do is make sure they profit off of the hardware, and it's a worthy investment to build the Xbox brand. I mean, the portable could easily be made to play any arcade game, and be able to DL movies and shows from Xbox live... Oh, and check this out - the current PSP, released like 4-5 years ago has a 333mhz CPU... how hard would it be to put  700mhz and 256mb of ram into a portable these days? Give the Xbox Mini (or whatever its called) the ability to play Xbox classics games... maybe give it a USB connector that lets your PC/360 transfer xbox games onto it's internal HD (or DL those too from Live). This opens up a vast market for old games which would be almost pure profit... and give a starting VAST library of awesome games to a portable for a fraction of the cost of even what portable games normally cost. Heck, giving MS the chance to resell all the classic Xbox games, maybe they wouldn't need to make money on the hardware after all. I'm not a fan of portables, but I'd buy one with those options.
Oh man, playing Halo:CE over wireless...  on a handheld... mmm...
