Oh c'mon, Leo-J. There's still a good chance the ps3 could pull second. :D

We are 2 months away from finding out if this PS3 holiday season can make it come close to the 360.

Even though I think the ps3 will come in second, I don't think it will happen this holiday. :P

Though a $399 ps3 could change that, should the rumors prove true.

Well you can expect Microsoft to make price cuts aown there SKU's so really that's when the war really starts but with:

80GB $600 vs. Elite $450

60GB $500 vs. Premium or Pro $350

20GB $450 vs. Core $280

PS3 aint got a chance against the 360 right now. We see that Microsoft can make price cuts too.

Price cuts only help if people want the system.  In Japan, almost nobody wants a 360, and in the EU it isn't so popular either.  It has been shown by surveys and other things that people DO want a ps3, sometimes even more than they want Wiis, and therefore price drops would do much more than they would for the 360.

Hell, I've heard from so many things like, "I want a ps3, but it's too expensive, so I'll wait for a pricedrop." This is from people who don't own a 360 yet.  If price was all that matters, then they would've gone with that.  There would be far more 360s sold than there are now.  Hell, if a pricedrop to the still very expensive $500 can makes ps3 sales match the 360 for a time, how will it do when the ps3 costs $399 or even $299?

Like I said in a previous post, brand name is a powerful thing.

X_X I think I mised something on this forum, I know when he was just on this forum he was annoying especially with his stupid comments.

But I had quite the feeling he grow up last months and was a less annoying :s.

lol...annoying but had some good posts.

I don't think Leo's annoying, in fact, I think he's been getting less annoying recently. He's slowly phasing out the Sony fanboy in him. :P

Maybe I'm just not around often enough to be annoyed...

Honestly, until Sony get some management with some vision, nothing is going to change. Sony badly needs someone like Steve Jobs or Iwata. Someone who is willing to completely change the business, not do more of the same. I think Sony is a great company with a great brand, but lousy management. Howard Stringer is the Sony's John Sculley.

So why it works the last two gens?

That's exactly why they need to change. Companies that can't change eventually die.

Ken basically made the PS1 stayed and it was good.

Ken made the PS2 and it was good.

Ken made the PSP it didn't live up to the hype of the DS.

Ken made the PS3 and left.

It's not just about the Playstation. Their inability to compete with the iPod is much more troubling. They had everything the needed to compete with Apple except the management to do so.

It is, why i can see it taking second in a LONG time, i also have quite a few friends who are going to get a 360 because of halo and Gears of War, alot of kids my age just love xbox live and the games on it.

THe same statement could be made to all consoles, but i do see it more for ps3 "its to expensive"

I always think that microsoft will drop the price as long as sony does, if we see a 399 ps3, we will most likely see elite being dropped to same price premium at 200-300 and core, well just low for that one.

Ps3 will in my mind most likely take over, in later dates, just because to me its a better console, and will most likely sell better in time. But in order to boost sales in the future, something has to be done, brand name will not push it to the point where they will take over so quickly

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Proud supporter of all 3 console companys

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Answer this....How long can they wait?

Well, considering the fact that the ps3 didn't really hit it's stride until 2-3 years after it came out, and the fact that the ps2 is still outselling the 360 in the US (up until this past month), it seems as if they can wait a pretty damn long time. :P

And as of a result PS3 sales suffer, why keep saying PS2 is outselling the 360, who cares about that?? If the PS2 is selling better congrats. but with the success countiuning for the PS2, PS3 will suffer in sales due to the PS2 popularity and price.
