The ps3...has it lost any chance of it getting 2nd or 3rd place?

We are 2 months away from finding out if this PS3 holiday season can make it come close to the 360.

Though a $399 ps3 could change that, should the rumors prove true.

Well you can expect Microsoft to make price cuts aown there SKU's so really that's when the war really starts but with:

80GB $600 vs. Elite $450

60GB $500 vs. Premium or Pro $350

20GB $450 vs. Core $280

PS3 aint got a chance against the 360 right now. We see that Microsoft can make price cuts too.

Price cuts only help if people want the system.  In Japan, almost nobody wants a 360, and in the EU it isn't so popular either.  It has been shown by surveys and other things that people DO want a ps3, sometimes even more than they want Wiis, and therefore price drops would do much more than they would for the 360.

Hell, I've heard from so many things like, "I want a ps3, but it's too expensive, so I'll wait for a pricedrop." This is from people who don't own a 360 yet.  If price was all that matters, then they would've gone with that.  There would be far more 360s sold than there are now.  Hell, if a pricedrop to the still very expensive $500 can makes ps3 sales match the 360 for a time, how will it do when the ps3 costs $399 or even $299? 

Like I said in a previous post, brand name is a powerful thing. 

Answer this....How long can they wait?
