When Mistwalker has a game that gets above a 9 their fans will have room to talk, but Blue Dragon on 360 was a 7.8 and Lost Odyssey was an 8.2 quite off the pace of most Square games (Chrono Cross 9.7, Vagrant Story 9.6, Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and Final Fantasy XII all got 9.5s)

You're right, because what people enjoy should take a backseat to meaningless internet reviews.  Final Fantasy VII bored me to tears and came very near to putting me off the franchise altogether. The only saving grace FF has had, to me, in the CD era is FF9, which I notice didn't make your list.   All the capital they built up with 9 was dashed to pieces by 12.

I guess I had no right to even post this, though, because some anonymous internet reviewer has different taste than I do.  Regardless of bullshit metacritic scores, though, I'll take "I'll never give up, Landshark!" over "Waaaah Cloud waaah Sephiroth qqqqqqq" any day of the week.

I give your post a 2/10.

What makes one game better than another in your eyes?

Nothing besides how much I enjoy it.  I enjoyed Blue Dragon, did not enjoy FFVII, VIII, XI, or XII.  I'm not saying that people who disagree are wrong, it's impossible to be wrong about which game gives you the most enjoyment.  All I'm saying is that to imply that people who prefer Mistwalker are in some way unfit to voice their opinion because of review scores is mentally bankrupt.

If you didn't like a specific game would it then be a called a "bad game" in your eyes even if it's beloved by millions of people?

Of course not.  I never said that FFVII, for instance, was a bad game.  I just said I hated it.  In fact, that kind of thinking is exactly what I'm arguing against.  Not liking something that a lot of people love doesn't make it bad, but the other side of that coin is that someone liking something you think is bad doesn't make them wrong or unfit to voice their opinion.

If his original post had said, "I hated Blue Dragon, are you for real?  Square Enix all the way, FFVII and Chrono Cross were two of the best RPGs I've ever played," I would have disagreed with his opinion but not taken issue with the post.  What irks me is that he says, "When Mistwalker has a game that gets above a 9 their fans will have room to talk..."  I'm sorry, but just because you and some reviewer think FFVIII is cooler than Blue Dragon doesn't mean people who think otherwise are mongoloids who should be locked away and prevented from saying so.

Square Enix does make good RPG. I wonder when Kingdom Hearts will be announced.

I agree with you very much

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

Namco>Square>Capcom(What popular RPG's have they made this gen?)

Why is namco even there, anyways its Square Enix

Because namco made Tales series.

I thought I'd be clever and say Squaresoft, but like 6 people already beat me to it. NES through PS1 Square was made of awsome.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

Common sense for anyone with an IQ its definitely Square Enix, just look at Final Fantasy itself.
