Come on, it wasn't that bad of a game. Yes, it was a huge disappointment, yeah, they ruined it with 4 character parties, sailing, weak story, very short length, sailing, oversimplified rune system, weak and easy to recruit non-story characters, sailing and so on, but even with all that it was still a decent game. I've beaten it twice and enjoyed it very much. It's kind of fitting that when Konami screws up badly, even then the game's still turns up good

You may be able to look past its faults, but I can't. Some of them are just too glaring for me to even think of it as a Suikoden game. It was decent enough for me to put the time to play through it once, but it really doesn't compare to the quality of the other games in the series at all (unless you want to include Tactics, but even then I vastly prefer Tactics over IV and that may just be because I'm a bigger fan of SRPGs on the whole).
The main character is cooler than Thomas, though.
But then again, I think everybody is cooler than Thomas. Especially those squirrels.

Konami
Suikoden,Silent Hill,Metal Gear Solid,Castlevania,Vandal Hearts,Ring Of Red,Zone Of Enders,Shadow Of Destiny etc...
Although they have released very little lately... kinda wish they try more new IPs.They really should try creating a new RPG IP and they seriously need to make Zone Of Enders 3 and more action/adventure games like Silent Hill and Shadow of Destiny.
Basically Konami Japan really needs to make more games Konami in general less publishing less anime stuff less music games just more good games.Glad they haven't forgot about Vandal Hearts but I want a 3rd one.Oh and they really need to release some PS1 classics on PSN for DL.
Namco is good but they really only focus on their main few games/sequels and they kill off new IPs too early/soon they need to try make some new IPS and lastly they milked Tales way too much but didn't even bother with a english release for most of them.
Tecmo how are they even a contender against these two?It should Capcom or someone else.Anyways they haven't released much in the last few years accept Ninja Gaiden and Dead Or Alive. However Tecmo deserves tons of praise for the Deception series such a unique and twisted series hopefully one shows up for PS3. Anyways looking forward to Quantum Theory.

I agree with this post, and the fact that you didn't mention the Tales series makes it a bigger win.

That's totally undeniable. If every Suikoden is a 9 and above, Tactics getting around an 8, then IV gets a 7 or 7.5
Thomas is meant to be the most uncool and plain Tenkai ever. I think they did it to reinforce the fact that he really is a nobody. At least he's not the "main character".
Mukumuku and its siblings rule!

Konami for me: Suikoden series, MGS, Silent Hill and ZOE.
Azure Dreams from the PS1. Hope they make another one.

I only played one Tales game (Legendia) and didn't like it much, so it's no wonder

Namco!
don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^
Going strictly by this generation, here is what I've enjoyed from each of the three:
Tecmo/Koei
Dead or Alive 4
Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff
Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
Robocalypse
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (Half-credit)
Fatal Inertia
Namco Bandai
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (Half-credit)
Soul Calibur IV
Konami
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow/Order of Ecclessia/Portrait of Ruin
Contra 4
Marvel Trading Card Game
New International Track and Field
Suikoden Tierkreis
MLB Power Pros 2008
Silent Hill: Homecoming/Origins
Metal Gear Solid 4/Portable Ops
No contest it's Konami. However, if Koei had released more of their DS games in America so I could play the damn things, like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Uncharted Waters, and Nobunaga's Ambition, they may have been able to take the cake.
