Actually from a broad behavior point of view there all pretty good. Though some of them certainly seemed awful. Some people really are fan struck for certain stars. While us internet goers aren't and don't appeal to us it will appeal to some.
I really like the mixed message, but my favorite was the teenager and the TS references.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
"OH NOES! NORMAL PEOPLE PLAYING GAMES AND HAVING FUN!!! BLSPHEMY"
Please...
I don't see anything bad about them. I actually liked them and are good attracting new gamers. You won't expect to attract new gamers with those stupid ads with girls in bikinis and weird artsy movie like crap do you?
They just show normal people playing and enjoying videogames down to earth.
The videogame world doesn't revolve around nerds ya know?
whenever someone complains about a videogame ad being bad, just remember that horrendous PSP ad where a squirrel says that a PSP is like a nut that you can play games on......genius!

If by "NORMAL PEOPLE" you mean super popular, super rich stars and if by "HAVING FUN" you mean faking a laugh for 30 sec, then you are right. Otherwise, you need some serious help.
Nintendo's "loyal fanbase" is exactly who these ads are NOT addressing.
These ads really get on my nerves - actually, the DSi gets on my nerves. It's nothing new! I never thought you could still impress people with stupid photo morphing... when was "Kai's Power Goo" popular? 1996? I admit I've had some fun with Apple's "Photo Booth", for 2 weeks or so - but that was years ago, too. And considering today's mobile phones all got their cameras, I couldn't imagine Nintendo actually focusing their DSi campaign on the photo capabilities.
Oh, and this crazy, crazy party game they're playing (sentence->drawing->sentence->drawing->...) - it's about 500 years old and works best with PAPER AND A PEN!
There's another ad, don't know if it was already posted. It's much better, because JL is a fantastic musician, and they put a lot of effort into the remix and video. (Still a bit misleading about the capabilities of the DSi).
(Watch the HD version, they really spent some money on this vid).
Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)
Waiting for:Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),

Those were so funny, but they never made me want a PSP.

Those "super popular rich stars" are actors that can get thje attention of the mainstream on games. Who would you like them to show? a fat nerd with a star wars tshirt? or a weird black and white ad with nonsensical images? of course not.
The idea of using mainstream actors having fun with videogames catches the eyes of the audience and makes them interested because it brakes the wall between the hardkorez and the mainstream that has being rotting the videogame industry for years.
And people feeling "disgusted" because these actors are doing that just proves how closedminded is the "core" videogame audience.
