Nintendo's "loyal fanbase" is exactly who these ads are NOT addressing.
These ads really get on my nerves - actually, the DSi gets on my nerves. It's nothing new! I never thought you could still impress people with stupid photo morphing... when was "Kai's Power Goo" popular? 1996? I admit I've had some fun with Apple's "Photo Booth", for 2 weeks or so - but that was years ago, too. And considering today's mobile phones all got their cameras, I couldn't imagine Nintendo actually focusing their DSi campaign on the photo capabilities.
Oh, and this crazy, crazy party game they're playing (sentence->drawing->sentence->drawing->...) - it's about 500 years old and works best with PAPER AND A PEN!
There's another ad, don't know if it was already posted. It's much better, because JL is a fantastic musician, and they put a lot of effort into the remix and video. (Still a bit misleading about the capabilities of the DSi).
(Watch the HD version, they really spent some money on this vid).
Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)
