GT5 have 900 cars

I don't think so...

It takes a lot longer to model a car for the PS3 than it does for the PS2. Polyphony only had time for 180 when they made the generational leap last gen with GT3. Maybe GT6 will have 900 cars...

So I take it Forza 3's cars aren't likely to be as detailed? Is this a significant difference in model complexity or is it relatively minor?

Judging by the standard set on GT5P and FM2 I guess Gran Turismo cars will be more detailed.  That's just on the exterior models.  I do hope they include cockipit view in Forza3 too, and G25 compatibility.  If they do I will consider buying a 360 for it.

G25 compatibility... Thats the one! I find the Xbox 360 racing wheels to be really mediocre, but I will be almost as happy if they create one of their own which is almost as good... But still its no G25 with 3 platform compatibility PS3/PC/360....

I have said it before

a good racing game with offline multiplayer (the only one that matter) will do extremely well in Europe

when u consider Forzza is said to be a very good game AND that forzza will be released on a 139 euros console (new Xbox360 arcade offer in France for the month of may), u understand that this will sell like crazy and could sell dramatic amount of system indeed ...

On the other side, Sony has the PS3 brand and the GT brand ... I dont know if it will be sufficient ...

;(

Have heart long suffering PS3 fan. GT5 will be an excellent game and millions of people around the world will go so gaga on release that this will reignite fears of another global pandemic like swine flu.

But in any case, competition is great as it keeps both Polyphony and Turn 10 on their toes.

In before the trolls ... oh :(

Fantastic we have a release date for this ... thank god we can shut up those annoying Sony fanboys claiming we have nothing announced ...

Does that mean we only have two big games announced?

Then theres 3 big games, we only have 3 big games...

So on and so fourth...?

so fourth...very clever captain

well GT games always have like 20 versions of the same car only with different color palette(mostly japanese cars) and they are saying about 400 different cars.

I guess we could have 10 announced and they would still nitpick

You have done that yourself !

Check out my game about moles ^

400 cars - not that impressive. 100 tracks is nice though.

Accoring to Wiki:

GT1 - 178 Cars/11 Tracks
GT2 - 650 Cars/27 Tracks (Already beats Forza 3)
GT3 - 150 Cars (Its back down, but the cars contain much more detail. Not sure about tracks)
GT4 - 700 Cars
GT5P - 71 Cars
GT5 - I predict over 1,000 cars.

if you consider that in GT series they count every posible version of the same car as new one then it's not that many. GT4 had maybe 140-150 different cars in total(there was 50 Skylines, 25 Lancers and 20 Imprezas).
.

No offense but im curious to see how it will work on 2 discs.
