Warner originally said they would only support HD-DVD.
Warner then said they would support BluRay by putting a couple mediocre titles on it (saving their biggest still for HD-DVD).
Warner is now saying they're considering switching back to HD-DVD only (for cash).
Apparently the grass wasn't greener on the other side. Should be interesting to see what Warner says next. |
you must be an idiot, every single dual format title WB's released has sold better on BD. this is an unsubstantiated rumor at best. |
Discount my opinion all you like but the facts are that Warner Bros. has only released ~35 BluRay 68 movies compared to 80+ 91 HD-DVD movies. Warner apparently is knowingly withholding many of the others so far including the majority of the Harry Potter and Matrix franchises. As that wasn't bad enough, it seems Warner is planning to release more titles to HD-DVD in the next 3 months than it has for the entirety of BluRay thus far approximately equal to half their existing BluRay line.
Even those titles it is releasing on both formats, it is not doing so equally. The Harry Potter movie that actually is getting the BluRay treatment will not have the same extras as its HD-DVD counterpart. The HD-DVD version will have 3 extras exclusive to that version.
Looks very much that Warner isn't supporting BluRay, rather it's milking BluRay for whatever it can get. If it sees more value in the offer they're looking at, they will likely dump BluRay.
Then again, I'm sure a well informed poster such as yourself already knew all of this and made the oh-so-logical conclusion that Warner is definitely supporting BluRay.
As a side note, your insult is both immature and childish. You could have just asked why I made the statements I did without being derogatory. If you have some proof of your own statement (BluRay WB titles outselling HD-DVD WB titles), I would welcome the reading.
News: Warner has dumped their Total-HD format but is continuing to support both and saying it has no plans to stop supporting both. Above content editted to display more accurate facts.
