"The only FPS that even came close to Halo popularity before it was Golden Eye on N64."

And nothing comes close to that popularity now except CoD, what's your point? The Turok series sold millions on the N64, Perfect dark did as well, and all of the big FPS on the PC got ported to the N64. Halo didn't do half as much for FPS on consoles as Goldeneye did.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

I'd put up Doom instead of Halo.
Even though Doom wasn't the first FPS, it's the one that made the genre take off.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Definetely God of War. Just to mention some rip offs: Rise of the Argonauts, Ghost Rider, Dantes Inferno,...

Did anyone say Doom yet?

I completely agree with you on GTA III, SM64 & RE.
I don't consider Halo revolutionary since GoldenEye 007 (3D) & Doom did what you think Halo has done. Halo only popularized FPS more.

Other game that are revolutionary :-
- Final Fantasy VII (Graphics and story)
- Metal Gear Solid
- World of WarCraft
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
- Gran Turismo
- Nintendogs
- The Sims
- SimCity

No to Gran Turismo, Need for Speed did everything long before that on PC
