In the absence of evidence to the contrary, always assume you have the upper hand.

I'm a Windows guy.

Why? Awesome Microsoft development tools (Visual Studio, MSDN, etc), great Microsoft-developed software (Office, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Media Player (it's not great, but it's better than iTunes (iTunes being the sole reason why I'm ditching iPods this year)).

For every piece of software available on Mac OS, there are 10 alternatives on Windows. Also, I'm a gamer (you wouldn't have guessed), and so I go to where the games are.

Greater hardware choice. I'm not limited to one manufacturer. If I were a Mac OS guy, I'd be trapped within a sort of quasi-monopoly, where I'd be charged extortionate prices for hardware.

If you are a PC gamer, Windows is pretty much the obvious OS. Luckily PC gaming has taken the backseat and is much less relevant today if you own a PS3.

MacOS X is underneath pretty powerful (much better than older releases). Linux is powerful, but is ussually a pain to setup properly. All 3 OSes can easily cover the main things people use on a desktop (Firefox, Thunderbird, OpenOffice.org, chat client, etc).

But if I compare all of this to what I already did on my Amiga in the early 90s, IMO progress has been slow (in terms of responsiveness and multi-tasking, the experience was usually better back then):

Hopefully AmigaOS 4.x will someday become advanced enough to regain ground (and support mainstream hardware):

Just to put this on the right context, MikeB owns a small business venture that is trying to sell a variant of the amigaOS to be used as an embedded system on consumer devices.

So take his opinions about operating systems with a grain of salt.

Wrong, I'm not selling anything.

You know, when it was disclosed that you own a business that's trying to sell the AmigaOS or a variant of it to Sony as an embedded OS in this thread http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=69437&page=6 (directly linked to the page where the interesting stuff started) you ignored the issue to come back drunk calling everyone else dumb.

Why o Why you didn't answer to these questions when they were put on the table? Did it take you this long to put up an adequate PR response in case the issue was raised again?

If you wanna market your business ventures in VGChartz, well... buy some ad banners.

Blah at iTunes. I have to use iTunes for a family member's iPod and it makes me so happy that I don't have a PMP that requires software to connect to my computer. In fact, I just need software that came with it for video conversion and that's it.

Wrong I wasn't to sell anything to Sony.
