Apparently everyone is going crazy and starting to wear protective masks and what not, what is this swine flu? How does it affect humans? Were did it come from?

Basically it is the first major flu strand that could become a pandemic, since about 40 years(Hong Kong flu of 1968). The most deadly flu pandemic, was the Spanish flu of 1918. It affected about 20% of the world's population at the time, and killed anywhere from 20-100million people. With the medication of today, it shouldn't be a problem though.



It's just like the normal flu. You should only worry if you're old or have a weakened immune system from something else. People who wear masks are douchebags.

wasn't SARS a pandemic....dunno but this flu does seem serious
