hahaha check this out.

So we were playing in cp_granary where theres no 'set-up time'.  And guess whats the best way to capture the first CP.

yeah it works cuz no set-up time allows Scouts to reach the CP way faster than any other classes.

Funny thing is the enemies had about 5 scouts as well and it was a Scout party going on first thing in the round.

Haha...we did that last night too on the same map! We ALL went Scout for a whole round...then after they realized they could get a few Heavy guys to mow us down...the team started evening out again...

Granary, although it looks really nice, doesn't seem as well thought-out as the other maps in the game. I really like what they did with dustbowl, and what they did with 2fort (spiral staircase FTL!). And Hydro can be a lot of fun to play if you have a decent team, but it's awfully confusing at times. I think Dustbowl and Gravelpit are my favorites, though. I really love capture point C in Gravelpit.

I have to agree I think Gravel Pit and Dustbowl are my two favorite maps right now. But I am looking forward to when the community tools become available and we get to play on some new maps.

I just wish they had made a vehicle for each of the classes and allowed for some pretty big levels with vehicles etc...Maybe we will be able to do it with the tools but I doubt it sadly =/

PS - Anyone have a trick to getting the achievement for lighting 5 people on fire within 30 seconds? Been working on this one but I keep getting stopped at 4. I thought dustbowl would be a good choice but no luck there at the start yet.

Edit: Apparently I got that achievement last run, now I just need to get another 100 kills and play as the medic for a bit and I will be down to the map specific ones.

To Each Man, Responsibility

it seems like lots the servers I go to are always on Well or Granary.
Hydro is confusing, I still don't understand the map structure change.

I like the ctf_ 2fort map. Map isn't too big and sneaking in the enemy base to capture the flag(intelligence) is so thrilling.

I got the Pyro achievement when I flamed half the enemy team to death (6 people) while they were trying to cap the tower in gravelpit. :)

Hydro is a really well-made map, I just wish it made more sense. It's extremely annoying when pieces of the map appear and disappear. I often spawn at the beginning of a round and spend the first 45 seconds trying to figure out how to get out of my base because all the doors are locked!

Dustbowl's pretty cool...but man, it is impossible to defend without losing the first control point.

IMPOSSIBLE! I dunno...maybe if we had like half the team as engineers building turrets everywhere, and the other half all heavies and medics haha. Otherwise...it's just impossible.

You need at least one Demoman spamming the shack. It's possible with a great defense and an offense that can't get their shit together.

Well the one section of Dustbowl isn't so bad...the one with the wide gates down low where all the Blue come from...as Red defending, we had them crammed in there for a long time...

I was a Medic, and I took a Heavy, went Uber, and we just trashed up the place right outside their spawn. I felt bad for getting so close to their spawn...but where else could we go? It felt like we were more on offense hehe.

Until spies got through and stole the point...ergh.

Man...demomen annoy the crap outta me.

Somehow...I always end up on the team that hardly uses demomen...and the opposing team has like HALF demomen. They just spam all day long...it's very hard to get past an area they're defending...

We've been saying there should perhaps be some class limitations after all. Only a certain amount of demomen, etc at once. The problem is...sometimes we like to all rush Scout, or get a lot of Medics and a few Heavies...the option to limit classes should at least be in the server though.

Another thing is the Spy Zappers...they REALLY need to put a limit on them. I suppose that's one of the Spy's big objectives - to take out sentries and dispensers...but sometimes I am FULLY aware that a spy is coming right at me, so while I try to kill him, I'm also trying to repair my crap...and every time I move to my dispenser, he puts another Zapper on my sentry...then another on my dispenser......by the time I kill him, I usually lose one of my structures.

It'd just be more rounded I think if the Spy only had, say, 4 Zappers, and if he couldn't destroy the structures with 4 Zappers, he'd have to retreat to an ammo box. That would seem fair to me...
