Every capture map can have Overtime. If a team has a stake in the capture point, and the timer ends, it'll go into Overtime. The Blues can die, but there's still some time before the meter completely depletes, so there's a chance a few more Blues can get on the point during Overtime...theoretically it could go on for 2 minutes, sure hehe.

well the terminology was confusing, saying that both teams were trying to take the point, casue it would already be red, and blu would be trying to occupy it, so i just figured he was confused. I can't think of how an overtime on dustbowl would go for 2 minutes, they usually last about 10 seconds max.

I can definitely see it happening on a 32 player server.  With that many blues and no respawn timer on offense, there would be an endless stream of players running for the point.

Entroper, Ihira, Avalach, and Ben - what servers do you play on/what are your steam names?
I'm having trouble finding a decent server to stick with....most of the time it seems like there are 2-3 good people on each team while the rest are brand new....

I don't stick to any one server because I'm usually looking to play on a specific map. And the servers that are 24/7 dustbowl or 2fort are usually loaded up with lame players who care about nothing but their own score and never try to accomplish the objective.

I don't really mind playing with n00bs as long as they aren't ALL on my team vs. all good players on the enemy team.

I only have a couple favorite servers, and that's because they're low-ping Chicago servers.

But 90% of the time, I'll pick a server with 23/24 people on a map I feel like playing.

And yeah, what Entroper said. This game is still relatively new...just help the noobs out...if they put a sentry in the wrong place, kindly tell them to where they should move it...that's how they learn.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I'll try more to help them out. It's not as easy when you don't have a mic though (I suppose I should get one...) - many people don't pay attention to text messages. Heheh - the new-player engies are most of what I was talking about. They can cost you a game sometimes...

I came across some cheaters today. We were in dustbowl, in the map that has the first capture point in a barn/house thing right next to gulley. We had about two minutes left to defend the last capture point and were doing quite well (well placed sentries, camping heavies, etc) - when an uber medic/demoman team showed up. We had plenty of uber medic-soldier/demoman teams show up before and we always fought them off, with maybe one less turret.

This time however, the demoman used a mine to hop over the gap between the building and the point, landed on the point, and just as his uber starts to fade - BAM! - all of just our team has a lag attack. It didn't behave like a normal lag attack either - we were frozen in place for 5 or so seconds rather than moving very choppy-like. When we came to, they had already captured the point.  I think it also happened in the match before as well.

I really hope this sort of thing doesn't become wide-spread. It could really take some fun out of the game.

Steam name is same.
I'm a semi-regular at a Seattle 32 player 24/7 Dustbowl server.
Other then that I just find a low ping server with 23/24 players.

crappy old school NES games are more entertaining than next-gen games.

I need to play some more TF2, I have been pretty busy with school when I am not posting way too much lol.

To Each Man, Responsibility

Cheaters will get weeded out with time, once Valve figures out whatever exploits or cheats they're using.

Also, I don't really like 32 player games. I think the sweet spot with TF2 is 24 players...it is indeed possible to have too many people. With 32 players, there's more room to have camping engineers, among other classes of course...and it just changes the game a lot.

I may have to stop playing this game. I am getting some new stuttering issue. The game plays for 2 seconds then freezes for 1. Beforehand I am getting a constant 35 fps? and after constant stuttering. I brought up and hardwired my internet connection to make sure it wasn't that and now I have no clue what it can be.

On another note, how are those stats coming along?

My top 3 characters are:

Medic 24 points

Engineer 20 points

Soldiers 19 points

Most kills: 17 (Engineer)

Most healing: 3970 (Medic)

Most damage: 3370 (Soldier)

Hours Played: 38
