ok.
you can't answer for the first guy that replies to this topic but i will still ask that question : i ask if the game was difficult, he told me it was difficult sometimes therefore he also told me that he didn't do much free level up.
As for another answer, i was told that "The game is not incredibly hard once you get to about level 10". what did he meant by that? that the game is not hard when you get to level 10, even when ennemis are of higher level than you?

It depends. I've found the game to be just right. It's challenging, but I haven't died yet.
It's a fun game....I don't know about HD install because I didn't...only have a 20gb 360.
You can prolly beat the main storyline in 40 hours if you skip all the side quest and everything.
If you do EVERYTHING...100% COMPLETE. TONS of hours. I'm 145 hours into it and still have not gotten all the battle trophies and achievement points.
As far as battle trophies...THEY ARE TIME CONSUMING AS HELL.
As far as difficulty...it's not that hard--really pretty easy if you know how to play JRPGs. There are harder difficulty levels though.
As far as fun...it's my second favorite JRPG of this generation. My biggest complaint with the game is the terrible cutscenes. Way OVER THE TOP. Some are just ridiculous. The other thing I hate is all the disc switching once you conquer the main story quest. I've seriously switched between disc 2 & 3 prolly 100 times--going back and forth between the Calnus (ship) and the coloseum.
Combat is great and weapon synthesis is a blast---I have all the top weapons in the game now and tons of the harder to get ingredients like the philosopher stones, etc. Overall, a great game that I would buy...and if it does come out on the ps3, I'll buy it again.

ok. when rereading my post, i find it hard to understand lol.
if you actually beat the final boss (of the story i mean, not the "final bonus boss", which is, i supposed overpowered like in the third star ocean), does it have a "one hit can kill all your teammates" attack?

I dunno about the final boss. I'm not there yet.

if someone has the answer, i'd be glad to know because the last boss of the third star ocean really made me wanna jump out of the window because of that kind of attacks somedays...
And to actually think that without crafting, the third star ocean's bonus bosses are not even tryable (don't know if it exist, well i meant that if you don't craft in so 3, you don't stand a chance against bonus bosses, even if you actually thing that good and complete crafting in so 3 makes you lose... 0 health point per attack even with the most deadly attack of the final bonus bosses lol )

on earth level (easy) on so 3, it took me something like 105 hours to reach and defeat the final bonus boss, crafted well and things.
But in so 3, easy level makes battle trophies not unlockables, is that the case in so 4? (that only normal level or higher makes battle trophies unlockables)
does someone have the answers to these questions :
1) does the final story boss of star ocean 4 has a "i can kill your team in one hit(or even in one attack)" attack?
2) are the battle trophies available in what is the easy level of that game or is it only for normal and higher difficulties?

There were two instances where I couldn't beat a certain battle with my characters at their current level, so I would usually go back and level up 4 times, and then I was fine. If you engage in a lot of battles instead of avoiding them (I didn't avoid too many, but I probably could have played more), you should be fine. I really wanted to see how the story would play out, so I hurried along to advance the story, at the cost of some extra battle time/experience. The last main quest boss was incredibly more difficult than the previous bosses, but I still managed to make it through on the first go (which was good, since it took me 37 minutes to beat it, haha).
Since you're familiar with the bonus boss, I do believe that she has an instant death attack. I haven't fought her, but I believe I read on a different forum that she has it. Here's a quote from that forum
"This is the hardest battle of the whole game, SHE IS NO JOKE!!!
It took me about 45 minutes to an hour for this battle, All 4 of my main characters were Maxed out at level 255, She has a move that sucks you towards her then the half the battle arena explodes & you cant dodge this, you`ll take about 900,000 Damage, if your not ready you`ll die in seconds, thankfully you get to swap in the other party members after all 4 die."
So, yeah, I think it's safe to say that you can expect an unfair fight. Actually, I can say with confidence to expect an unfair fight, because the preceeding 20 floor/5 hour dungeon has no save points.
Edit: I just saw your latest post

1. I don't remember the final story boss having that attack.
2. Battle trophies are available on all modes, including easy.
